From Baby Boomers to Gen Zers: Navigating Stormy Waters of Medical Education

Meadowlark - 1305
Tuesday, June 23, 2026, 12 – 1pm

Lunch and Learn: From Baby Boomers to Gen Zers: Navigating Stormy Waters of Medical Education
Educators and learners in the residency programs now include four generations – Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z. Each generation approaches education, work and communication with distinct value systems and expectations. These differences can lead to learner dissatisfaction and come as a surprise to faculty when revealed in anonymous surveys. This workshop will help to identify generational differences and tensions leading to learner dissatisfaction in the context of higher medical education and to develop strategies to foster a more positive learning environment leading to improved learner's experience and survey results. Facilitated by Jana Lincoln, M.D., DFAPA.

Contact: Jennifer Bristol
Presenter(s): Jana Lincoln, M.D., DFAPA
Sponsor Dept: Faculty Affairs and Development
Event Type: Faculty Professional Dev.
