Preparing for College (Civilians welcome) will explain what to consider when thinking about college, understanding the college application, selecting the right school, student roles & responsibilities, expectations of students, the changing role of parents, and paying for college.

Navigate your path to higher education with our expert-led workshop that empowers veterans to transition successfully into college life while helping students and families make informed decisions about their educational future.

Pursuing Your Degree After Service: informs on the structure of higher education as opposed to the military. Guidance will be given on exploring and applying to colleges and universities, the process they may engage in to prepare for admission and navigating resources available at their chosen institution.

Using Your Post 9/11 GI Bill (and Other Benefits) for Your Degree: includes applying to the VA for benefits, connecting with their institution’s VA School Certifying Officials (SCO), and VA rules regarding the use of their entitlements. The primary goal of this workshop is to empower attendees to better understand their roles and responsibilities around their benefits before beginning their academic journey.

About the facilitator: Rosa Liu has 40+ years of higher education. She is committed to supporting the military community as they pursue college and university degrees. Drawing on her experience in student affairs, she hope to help veterans and their families navigate complex academic and financial resources more seamlessly to achieve greater success.

Preparing for College (Civilians welcome) will explain what to consider when thinking about college, understanding the college application, selecting the right school, student roles & responsibilities, expectations of students, the changing role of parents, and paying for college.

Navigate your path to higher education with our expert-led workshop that empowers veterans to transition successfully into college life while helping students and families make informed decisions about their educational future.

Pursuing Your Degree After Service: informs on the structure of higher education as opposed to the military. Guidance will be given on exploring and applying to colleges and universities, the process they may engage in to prepare for admission and navigating resources available at their chosen institution.

Using Your Post 9/11 GI Bill (and Other Benefits) for Your Degree: includes applying to the VA for benefits, connecting with their institution’s VA School Certifying Officials (SCO), and VA rules regarding the use of their entitlements. The primary goal of this workshop is to empower attendees to better understand their roles and responsibilities around their benefits before beginning their academic journey.

About the facilitator: Rosa Liu has 40+ years of higher education. She is committed to supporting the military community as they pursue college and university degrees. Drawing on her experience in student affairs, she hope to help veterans and their families navigate complex academic and financial resources more seamlessly to achieve greater success.
