Take a stroll through history and follow a high ridge trail that links Rancho Los Alamitos and Rancho Los Cerritos. This 9.4-mile scenic walk begins at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) and winds through neighborhoods with rest stops and vista points at Reservoir Hill, Hilltop Park in Signal Hill and Longview Point at Willow Springs Park before concluding with a celebration at Rancho Los Cerritos. In addition to the full 9.4-mile urban hike, walkers have the option of abbreviated 6-mile and 3.5-mile routes. From Rancho Los Cerritos, a free shuttle service will be available to return walkers to their starting points.
The 6-mile walking route will start at Reservoir Hill at 9 a.m. The 3.5-mile walking route will start at Willow Springs Park at 10 a.m.
Shuttle services and water will be provided along the route. Only service dogs will be permitted.
Parking Instructions:
Parking for the full walk start is available at CSULB lot E6, at 1201 Palo Verde Avenue (parking is $12 for the day). Limited free parking is available along Reservoir Drive near the 6-mile start point and at Willow Springs Park for the 3.5-mile start point, carpooling, public transit, and active transportation is encouraged. Shuttles will be available at the end of the walk to take you back to your starting point.
