The first author in our Fall 2026 Health Storytelling Author Q&A Series is Leidy Klotz. Leidy is a behavioral scientist and engineering professor at the University of Virginia who studies how and why humans design. He has written for The Washington Post, Fast Company, Scientific American, and Harvard Business Review, and his research has appeared in journals including Nature and Science.
Leidy is the author of IN A GOOD PLACE, which reveals how the spaces where we live, work, and play shape our habits, relationships, and sense of self. Weaving together science and history, psychology and urban planning, the book shows how our surroundings can support or frustrate our core psychological needs—and how small adjustments can help us think more boldly, work more productively, and feel a genuine sense of belonging. His previous book, SUBTRACT, made the case for the power of less.
Join us for a Q&A with Leidy, conducted by Maryn McKenna, journalist, best-selling author, and Senior Fellow at CSHH, on October 7, 2026, at 6:00 pm ET.
Please RSVP to reserve your place at this event. We will email you a link to join the event virtually before it begins.
