Event Information The SBCTC Faculty Learning Institute is a two-day, in-person professional learning experience for faculty who are new to roles in Washington’s community and technical colleges, especially tenure track faculty. The institute is designed to help participants build connection, confidence, and practical teaching tools while learning more about the Washington community and technical college system. Across the two days, participants will engage in sessions on the Washington system and the students we serve, evidence-based teaching and active learning, pathway-aligned teaching, teaching with technology, union orientation, tenure orientation, self-assessment and personalized planning, and onboarding into ACUE’s Effective Teaching 101 course. This institute is intended to support faculty in applying inclusive, evidence-based teaching practices, connecting their teaching to SBCTC values, and developing a professional learning plan for their first year. Registration Information The $500 registration fee covers institute participation, materials, lunch and breakfast, staffing/facilitation, and the ACUE Effective Teaching 101 course.
