The 22nd Annual 12x12 Community Art Exhibition Opening Reception -AND- Slow Beauty Opening Reception

The 22nd Annual 12x12 Community Art Exhibition (March 6th – April 18th, 2026), With over 60 submissions by artists of all ages, we are excited for the 22nd Annual 12x12 Community Art Exhibition! Each year the City Museum hosts a community art exhibition in which artists of all ages are encouraged to create works within the parameters of a square or a cube, measuring 12" x 12" (or 12" x 12" x 12") including the framing. Themes for the exhibition are suggested by museum visitors. This year artists submitted pieces on the theme "Monochrome in Color". Artists were allowed to use any medium (sculpture, photography, paint, collage, colored pencil, etc.) but could choose only one color to create their piece. On behalf of the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (DCCED), Division of Community and Regional Affairs (DCRA), we are hosting an in‑person, open‑house‑style community meeting on April 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM as part of HUD’s required public engagement process for Juneau’s CDBG‑DR Action Plan. Community members are welcome to drop-in, pick-up materials, and speak one‑on‑one with project staff. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and share feedback on HUD’s CDBG‑DR program design and the proposed use of funds.
