In her solo show, native Alabamian Kathy Nelson presents a selection of baskets and coiled art created from longleaf pine needles. Nelson collects needles from this longest-lived yet endangered species of Southern pine on her property in Shelby County. She then sorts, dries, soaks, and finally coils the needles into baskets.
