Free author talk with Vanessa Young: The Reluctant Homeopath

Te Matapihi ki te Ao Nui Central Library Wellington City Libraries, in association with The Cuba Press, is pleased to be bringing you this conversation between science communicator turned homeopath, Vanessa Young, and author Kristen Phillips who will be ask the questions. In their kōrero, Vanessa draws on decades of work in her chosen field to provide insight into how she has reconciled parts of herself that are seemingly at odds, and how to do this when we need to reframe everything we understand to be certain. Her journey, told with empathy and supported by experience, yields an unexpected science story from a reluctant homeopath. "I find myself wondering how I ended up here – a homeopath. What a ludicrous system of medicine it seems to be. Based on ‘similars’ and utilising highly diluted substances, it doesn’t get much weirder than this. And yet here I am." This is a free event, and all are welcome. We expect it to be very popular and seating is limited, so please arrive early to ensure a seat.
