The Poems, Prayers and Promises of John Denver
Redland Performing Arts Centre
Re-live the voice of a generation as Darren Coggan respectfully honours John Denver and brings his legendary sing-along hits to the stage.
Multi-award-winning performer, Darren Coggan, returns to his country roots with The Poems, Prayers and Promises of John Denver, delivering the vocal authenticity of one of the most passionate performers of all time.
In a personal reflection, Darren respectfully honours the indelible voice behind songs that the whole world sang along with, such universal anthems as Take Me Home Country Roads, Rocky Mountain High, Annie's Song, Perhaps Love, Thank God I’m A Country Boy, Calypso, Leaving On A Jet Plane and many more.
It is often said that John Denver was to the ‘70s, what Sinatra was to the ‘40s, Elvis to the ‘50s and The Beatles to the ‘60s. With a voice full of Colorado sunshine, John Denver melted the borders between folk, pop and country music, offering a warm, welcoming vision of what the ‘70s could encompass.
Re-live the voice of a generation, in a celebration of…
