Community events One of Brisbane's original markets, the Cleveland Markets have been operating in Bloomfield Street, Cleveland for more than 302 years. Situated in the heart of the Redlands Coast, the markets boast more than 70 stalls, including fresh produce, arts and craft, food and entertainment. This farmers market is not to be missed when visiting Cleveland. From Brisbane-by-night to the world of high speed water drop photography, enjoy the natural environment of beautiful K'gari Island, see marvellous scenic landscapes and take in poignant imagery from Brisbane street protest marches. Scanography showcases an alternative method of capturing everyday objects, displayed in one photographer's photographic quilt piece.  Join us to view this delightful series of themed exhibits during the month of October at the Dunn Wing Exhibition Area at the Redland Museum. Vision in Voice Community Choir

Community events The Vision in Voice Community Choir is an all-inclusive choir welcoming everyone who loves to sing. We sing mostly in unison with lyrics and music provided. Numerous studies have shown that singing has multiple therapeutic benefits, so our aim is to provide a wonderful morning of song, fun and friendship. Suitable for adults with disabilities, sight impaired people, seniors, those with early stage dementia, people suffering from Parkinson's, anxiety or depression and anyone looking to join a joyous, positive group of people. This choir is also a perfect learning ground for those who have never sung in a choir before. The Vision in Voice choir also performs at nursing homes and community events. Storm Awareness on Redlands Coast - Redlands Sporting Club

Community events Redlands Coast is a diverse and unique blend of residential, rural and bushland areas. The area is of particular risk for severe weather impacts and other natural hazards, highlighted in the most recent weather events. Redland City Council is partnering with Queensland Fire Emergency Services and the State Emergency Service to run a series of Storm Information Sessions this year. A Celebration of Stories from Minjerribah

Redland Performing Arts Centre Filmmaker, John Parke, will present a series of short films that capture the rich, cultural stories of Elders and other community members from Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island). The remarkable beauty of the Island provides a fitting backdrop for these deeply personal stories. For example, some films record stories from the last remaining Aboriginal fishing crew on Minjerribah that explore how fishing the ocean beaches provides a deep connection to their culture and their ancestors. John Parke has assisted members of the Minjerribah community to capture their cultural stories through films and multimedia productions for several years. After the presentation, John will facilitate a short Q&A session and briefly describe the approach he used to record the stories and the lessons learned along the way. Conducting Workshop

Community events Redland City Bands (RCB) is presenting a one-day Conducting Workshop run by Mr Peter Francis, Musical Director of RCB, who has many years' experience in conducting and teaching. Vision in Voice Community Choir

Community events The Vision in Voice Community Choir is an all-inclusive choir welcoming everyone who loves to sing. We sing mostly in unison with lyrics and music provided. Numerous studies have shown that singing has multiple therapeutic benefits, so our aim is to provide a wonderful morning of song, fun and friendship. Suitable for adults with disabilities, sight impaired people, seniors, those with early stage dementia, people suffering from Parkinson's, anxiety or depression and anyone looking to join a joyous, positive group of people. This choir is also a perfect learning ground for those who have never sung in a choir before. The Vision in Voice choir also performs at nursing homes and community events.
