Italian For Absolute Beginners
Community events
There is no tuition fee for this weekly class apart from a small weekly venue hire. As the title of this course suggests, this course assumes you have little or no knowledge of Italian. Acquiring even basic proficiency in another language requires commitment which means a willingness to attempt the weekly set homework, as well as regular attendance. Studying a foreign language may never enable you to converse like a native, but research has shown that it is a powerful weapon against dementia, stimulating your brain in ways other mental activities cannot. We not only study one of the world’s most beautiful languages but also immerse ourselves in the rich culture of Italy.
Our classes are on-going and are held in school term time only. Some of my advanced class have been studying with me for 10 years.
This will be the last intake of new students I will be offering and places are limited.
For more details contact Greg at redlanduni@gmail.com.
Event Type: Classes and workshops. Culture and history. Food and drink. Free. Suburb: Cleveland. Age range: Adults (30+). Seniors. Young adults (18-30).

Create and connect: Blotted line printmaking
Libraries
When Andy Warhol first used the blotted-line monoprint method, illustrators were amazed – and they’re still amazed today!
In this beginner class, you’ll learn the very same process that Warhol made famous using simple materials: a nib pen, acrylic ink and tracing paper. Plus, of course, you’ll need a wonderful image to trace. (A variety of images will be provided; however, if you wish to create an art piece from your own image, please bring a black & white A4 photocopy with you.)
Without any drawing skills required, we’ll walk you through how to create a one-of-a-kind monoprint that pops!
Create and connect are a series of free events at the libraries that encourage all adult members of the community to engage with both friends and new faces while they learn new skills together. Check out more Create and connect events: https://bit.ly/RCC_createconnect

It was super hectic, and Ro decides it's time for some much-needed R&R. At Samsara, he's free to explore the innumerable yoga classes, wellness treatments and guided meditation sessions on offer alongside the rest of the exclusive hotel's guests.

Using social media safely for seniors

Popular platforms like Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) have become part of daily life for many people, and this session will help you master the basics.
This session will cover:
• How social media works
• Benefits of using social media
• Major social media apps
• Safety tips for using social media
