Beginners Pottery Wheel Throwing with Roxanne - 6 Week Course

Have you always wanted to learn to throw on the pottery wheel? Join Roxanne and learn to make your own set of 6 mugs, plus you will also create other vessels! Maximum of 5 in a class.
There is a meditation and mindfulness that comes with wheel throwing. It is an ancient process that fundamental skills set has not changed in thousands of years. Once you have learned the process and formulas of wheel throwing they never leave you, it is then up to you how far you take it.
This six week course is aimed at new wheel throwers and will equip you with all the basic skills for your wheel throwing journey. You will spend 5 weeks throwing on the pottery wheel and in the final week you will glaze your work.
Friday 3pm - 5:30pm - Two hours of tuition and 30 minutes for clean up, tea and chat.

Beginners Pottery Wheel Throwing with Roxanne - 6 Week Course

Have you always wanted to learn to throw on the pottery wheel? Join Roxanne and learn to make your own set of 6 mugs, plus you will also create other vessels! Maximum of 5 in a class.
There is a meditation and mindfulness that comes with wheel throwing. It is an ancient process that fundamental skills set has not changed in thousands of years. Once you have learned the process and formulas of wheel throwing they never leave you, it is then up to you how far you take it.
This six week course is aimed at new wheel throwers and will equip you with all the basic skills for your wheel throwing journey. You will spend 5 weeks throwing on the pottery wheel and in the final week you will glaze your work.
Friday 3pm - 5:30pm - Two hours of tuition and 30 minutes for clean up, tea and chat.

The Bayview Blast is an XCM mountain biking event, hosted by the RATS Cycling Club, at the Bayview Conservation Area in Redland Bay.
The Blast returns at one of the best event bases around thanks to Redland City Council. The event village includes amenities, skills park, sealed carpark, toilets, bike wash and an outdoor shower.
This year's Bayview Blast will be held on Sunday 22 June 2025.
There is a race category for everyone. In keeping with previous versions of the event, we target this event towards cyclists trying long form mountain bike racing at an affordable level before attempting some of the large events in SE QLD like the Noosa Enduro or Hidden Vale Epic.

Born in 1921, Pippa Latour became a covert special operations agent who parachuted into a field in Nazi-occupied Normandy. Trained by the British, Pippa was lauded for her fluency with languages and her coding ability - attributes she put to remarkable use when she posed as a teenage soap-seller, often selling her wares to the German soldiers and sending back information via code to England.
Incredibly brave, Pippa knew she could be instantly shot if her cover was blown -- she concealed her codes on a piece of silk that she threaded through a shoelace and wore as a hair tie. She bicycled around the region, often sleeping rough and foraging for food.

If you are wishing to hone your sculpting skills then this is the perfect course for you! This course of 8 week classes at The Studio in Cleveland is perfect for those wishing to learn and extend their skills in hand building and sculpting. You will learn the techniques to create pottery pieces, and Diane will show you how to master the skills of slab building, coiling and pinch pots and step you through the creative process of making and glazing. You are free to concentrate on your own projects or to be inspired by pieces in the studio and Diane's own artworks that you can see on Mud Of Moon. After creating your pieces you are able to focus on decorating using under glazes, tissue transfers and stoneware glazes. Diane will show you different decorating techniques to finish your pieces.

Beginners Pottery Wheel Throwing with Roxanne - 6 Week Course

Have you always wanted to learn to throw on the pottery wheel? Join Roxanne and learn to make your own set of 6 mugs, plus you will also create other vessels! Maximum of 5 in a class.
There is a meditation and mindfulness that comes with wheel throwing. It is an ancient process that fundamental skills set has not changed in thousands of years. Once you have learned the process and formulas of wheel throwing they never leave you, it is then up to you how far you take it.
This six week course is aimed at new wheel throwers and will equip you with all the basic skills for your wheel throwing journey. You will spend 5 weeks throwing on the pottery wheel and in the final week you will glaze your work.
Friday 3pm - 5:30pm - Two hours of tuition and 30 minutes for clean up, tea and chat.

Old SchoolHouse Gallery Community Salon Wall an exciting new monthly initiative at our wonderful Gallery.
Each month, one wall of the siding gallery will be set aside to hang artwork of a limited size by artists from across our Redlands Coast community.
Approximately 30 paintings may be hung, so send back your expression of interest as soon as possible.
Each month, Old SchoolHouse Gallery hosts an Opening Night event. These events are free of charge, and you are invited to attend as well as bring guests, check out our Facebook page for dates.

After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by joining class members for a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are monthly social events such as: mini golf; lunches; movies; and trips to Straddie etc. So why not come and see for yourself.

Our Fitter for Life classes are a fun fundamental movement program and social opportunity that aims to help you improve your mobility, strength, and coordination; the activities in our classes can be catered to you and your needs!
