These classes are designed for all levels of fitness with lots of options offered. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. Prices are $16/class and a one-off Intro Deal of $60 for 5 classes with further discount class passes offered. You only pay when you attend. Come learn about citizen science, ecoacoustic collaborations, and how you can help these magnificent birds.
The ARDC, in collaboration with BirdLife Australia and Open Ecoacoustics, invites researchers, citizen scientists and conservationists to a catered workshop at UQ, St Lucia on the Powerful Owl project. You’ll hear from leading observers on identification techniques and the nuances of locating these magnificent birds within Southeast Queensland’s forests. Participants will discover how citizen science efforts have improved our understanding of powerful owl distributions, how ecoacoustics is accelerating our understanding - and how you can help us!
Crucially, we’ll demonstrate how you can contribute to this national data effort by helping to train AI models to identify Powerful Owl calls - turning vast amounts of audio data into actionable conservation insights.

Over 50s Fitness Classes

These classes are designed for all levels of fitness with lots of options offered. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. Prices are $16/class and a one-off Intro Deal of $60 for 5 classes with further discount class passes offered. You only pay when you attend. These classes are a bit lighter than my Over 50s Fitness and are designed for those who may never have exercised before, or did, but a long time ago or maybe have injuries. It is mainly seated with a little standing, where the chair offers support. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. The international Kangatraining (babywearing fitness) class focuses on rebuilding strength of the muscles affected by pregnancy, birth and beyond.

These classes are designed for all levels of fitness with lots of options offered. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. Practice the Pause – Finding Stillness in a Busy Season (Wise, Wild + Well Series Workshop 6)

Practise the Pause is the final workshop in the Wise, Wild + Well series and offers a quiet, reflective close to the journey.
This calming two-hour workshop focuses on slowing down, creating space, and learning how to build moments of stillness into everyday life — even when life remains busy. The emphasis is on rest, reflection, and integration rather than doing more.
Facilitated by Angela Brandenburg, a counsellor, medical educator, and coach, the session draws on therapeutic and evidence-informed approaches to support calm, grounding, and gentle closure.
Held at The Studio by Carys Martin Ceramics on the Redlands Coast, the workshop includes light refreshments. Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook and pen.
Practise the Pause may be attended individually or as the closing experience in the full Wise, Wild + Well workshop series.

These classes are designed for all levels of fitness with lots of options offered. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. These classes are a bit lighter than my Over 50s Fitness and are designed for those who may never have exercised before, or did, but a long time ago or maybe have injuries. It is mainly seated with a little standing, where the chair offers support. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. Art Exhibition - 'Grounded in Redlands'

An eclectic mix of paintings, pottery and photography by Old Schoolhouse Gallery members Ana Dodig, Peppa Potts and Mike Scott. All are firmly grounded in the Redlands and have built their art practice to incorporate the stunning landscapes and natural surroundings of the local area.
Mike has been a member of OSHG for nineteen years now and says that no matter where he travels on holiday, he always comes back to landscapes captured from around the Redlands and the Bay Islands. He said that Straddie is still one of his favourite places to visit, especially for spectacular seascapes taken along the Pacific seaboard. He also likes to explore all of the coastal suburbs from Wynnum through to Redland Bay looking for views that best demonstrate the beauty and nature of life in the Redlands.

These classes are designed for all levels of fitness with lots of options offered. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in.
