Come along and join in the fun at Redland City Council's largest community planting event of the year. Planet Ark's National Tree Day is one for the whole family to get involved in. On Sunday 26 July 2026, the Community Bushcare Team will host this years event at Burmah Boulevard parkland, Redland Bay. This parkland adjoins important Grevillea Street Nature Reserve
We supply: Plants, tools, sunscreen, insect repellent, gardening gloves and a sausage sizzle!
What to bring: Enclosed shoes, sun protection and drinking water.

The talented members of our wonderful Gallery have put their creative juices to work to present you with a special exhibition in July titled ‘Winter in Australia’.
How is Australia unique in winter? How are we different to other parts of the world as far as winter goes? How are we different even state by state? – e.g. living here in Queensland compared to living in Tasmania?
Within Queensland from the tropical north with its ‘shivering’ 20+ degrees we can travel down to Warwick with their -1-degree frosty mornings and on to Applethorpe or Stanthorpe with their sometimes-snowy mornings!
What an amazing and diverse state and country we live in! Such contrasts!
The exhibition runs from the 2nd July to 2nd August.
The Gallery is open Thursdays to Sundays and public holidays, 9.30am – 4.30pm.
The official Opening Night is July 4th.
Everyone is welcome to come and meet the artists and enjoy drinks and nibbles on the verandahs.

Join Straddie based ceramic artist Meri Mila for a special handbuilding pottery workshop inspired by the gentle giants of the ocean. You will create a ceramic piece inspired by whale forms, movement, and whimsical wonder.
You will be given a pre-rolled slab of clay from which Merri will teach you how to sculpt your very own whale. Once the form is there, you will be able to design and decorate your whale with your own whimsical patterns, colours and textures creating a unique wall hanging.
Using accessible handbuilding techniques, Meri will guide you step by step to shape and decorate your piece. No prior pottery experience is needed - this workshop is suitable for beginners and those wanting to explore clay in a relaxed, meaningful way.
All materials, firings, and glazes are included. Finished pieces will be fired and ready for collection at a later date.

Take part in a free, hands-on workshop with artist Christina Lowry to create porcelain clay skulls that will contribute to a larger collaborative artwork. This is a rare chance to be involved in an installation that honours both the natural world and the strength of community connection. The activity invites people to gather and create something thoughtful and shared.
Christina Lowry will lead participants in shaping simplified bird skull forms from clay. Each piece will become part of a wider community project highlighting endangered and at-risk bird species from our local area. As a symbolic act of giving back to nature, every skull made represents an offering. Your contribution will help build a collective artwork designed to raise awareness and pay tribute to the wildlife around us. Whether you choose to make a single skull or several, this is your chance to express your creativity and play a meaningful role in the final piece.

Drop-In Art Activity: Co-Create an Evolving Garden
Step into our workshop space and help grow an ever-changing, imagined garden inspired by the exhibitions Mountain No Mountain and Drawing Animal.
This free, drop-in activity invites visitors of all ages to become co-designers of a shared creative landscape.
Using art materials provided, create an element on paper - something abstract, playful, or inspired by what you have seen, then add it to the evolving garden wall. There’s no need to finish or perfect; contribute a small piece or different pieces and place wherever you think best in this garden.
With every addition, the garden transforms, it is shaped by every visitor who takes part.
Come by, get creative and leave your mark on a collective work that grows throughout the program.

These classes are designed for all levels of fitness with lots of options offered. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. Prices are $16/class and a one-off Intro Deal of $60 for 5 classes with further discount class passes offered. You only pay when you attend. These classes are a bit lighter than my Over 50s Fitness and are designed for those who may never have exercised before, or did, but a long time ago or maybe have injuries. It is mainly seated with a little standing, where the chair offers support. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. This free, drop-in activity invites visitors of all ages to become co-designers of a shared creative landscape.
Using art materials provided, create an element on paper - something abstract, playful, or inspired by what you have seen, then add it to the evolving garden wall. There’s no need to finish or perfect; contribute a small piece or different pieces and place wherever you think best in this garden.

The Department of Home Affairs, through its Business, Industry and Regional Outreach (BIRO) network, would like to invite you to attend upcoming free information sessions on employing overseas working within the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) stream and the Pacific Engagement Visa (PEV).
These sessions are open to any business or organisation who would like information on visa options for employing an overseas workers from the Pacific Islands and Timor-Leste.
The PALM is a temporary residence visa available for eligible citizens of participating Pacific countries and Timor-Leste. The PALM scheme is an employer sponsored visa for unskilled, low-skilled and semi-skilled positions. This visa allows eligible businesses to recruit workers for short-term jobs for up to 9 months or long-term roles for between one and 4 years. This free, drop-in activity invites visitors of all ages to become co-designers of a shared creative landscape.
Using art materials provided, create an element on paper - something abstract, playful, or inspired by what you have seen, then add it to the evolving garden wall. There’s no need to finish or perfect; contribute a small piece or different pieces and place wherever you think best in this garden.

The talented members of our wonderful Gallery have put their creative juices to work to present you with a special exhibition in July titled ‘Winter in Australia’.
How is Australia unique in winter? How are we different to other parts of the world as far as winter goes? How are we different even state by state? – e.g. living here in Queensland compared to living in Tasmania?
Within Queensland from the tropical north with its ‘shivering’ 20+ degrees we can travel down to Warwick with their -1-degree frosty mornings and on to Applethorpe or Stanthorpe with their sometimes-snowy mornings!
What an amazing and diverse state and country we live in! Such contrasts!
The exhibition runs from the 2nd July to 2nd August.

In conjunction with her own collection of beautiful acrylic floral artworks, gallery member Lenore Robbins has invited seven photographer friends from iPhotographMagic to join her: Cheryl Nancarrow, Noeleen Berg, Julie Geldard, Ann Ingham, Judi Neumann, Ian Brewster and Maureen Daly.
Sue Moyle, Lenore’s friend and brother’s partner, returns with her highly colourful functional and ornamental ceramics. Sue’s work was very popular when she displayed in 2025.

Step into the uncanny and unleash your imagination in Surreal Creatures, a hands-on workshop exploring the strange beauty of human–animal transformation. Inspired by the surrealist game Exquisite Corpse and the blurred boundaries revealed by current pathogen transmission outbreaks between animals and humans. Hooper looks into our darker relationships with the animal world.
Guided by artist Hooper, experiment with polyester plate lithography, expressive pen drawing and fluid watercolour techniques to make your own creations. Using pre-prepared printing plates and reticulated washes, you will layer, distort and reassemble forms into mesmerising creatures that are at once familiar and unsettling.
Designed for ages 17+, this workshop requires no prior experience, just a willingness to explore the beautifully bizarre!

The talented members of our wonderful Gallery have put their creative juices to work to present you with a special exhibition in July titled ‘Winter in Australia’.
How is Australia unique in winter? How are we different to other parts of the world as far as winter goes? How are we different even state by state? – e.g. living here in Queensland compared to living in Tasmania?
Within Queensland from the tropical north with its ‘shivering’ 20+ degrees we can travel down to Warwick with their -1-degree frosty mornings and on to Applethorpe or Stanthorpe with their sometimes-snowy mornings!
What an amazing and diverse state and country we live in! Such contrasts!
The exhibition runs from the 2nd July to 2nd August.

In conjunction with her own collection of beautiful acrylic floral artworks, gallery member Lenore Robbins has invited seven photographer friends from iPhotographMagic to join her: Cheryl Nancarrow, Noeleen Berg, Julie Geldard, Ann Ingham, Judi Neumann, Ian Brewster and Maureen Daly.
Sue Moyle, Lenore’s friend and brother’s partner, returns with her highly colourful functional and ornamental ceramics. Sue’s work was very popular when she displayed in 2025.

From a bark hut with push-out windows to a thriving dairy built from just ten shillings, this site traces the rise of one family and the making of the early Birkdale community.
What was life like for eleven children growing up here? How did the property connect to Quandamooka Country and the South Sea Islander labourers who worked the land? Why did the next generation ultimately have to give it all up — and how did this place come to witness everything from wartime use to the solitary life of the ‘Goat Lady’?

The talented members of our wonderful Gallery have put their creative juices to work to present you with a special exhibition in July titled ‘Winter in Australia’.
How is Australia unique in winter? How are we different to other parts of the world as far as winter goes? How are we different even state by state? – e.g. living here in Queensland compared to living in Tasmania?
Within Queensland from the tropical north with its ‘shivering’ 20+ degrees we can travel down to Warwick with their -1-degree frosty mornings and on to Applethorpe or Stanthorpe with their sometimes-snowy mornings!
What an amazing and diverse state and country we live in! Such contrasts!
The exhibition runs from the 2nd July to 2nd August.

The talented members of our wonderful Gallery have put their creative juices to work to present you with a special exhibition in July titled ‘Winter in Australia’.
How is Australia unique in winter? How are we different to other parts of the world as far as winter goes? How are we different even state by state? – e.g. living here in Queensland compared to living in Tasmania?
Within Queensland from the tropical north with its ‘shivering’ 20+ degrees we can travel down to Warwick with their -1-degree frosty mornings and on to Applethorpe or Stanthorpe with their sometimes-snowy mornings!
What an amazing and diverse state and country we live in! Such contrasts!
The exhibition runs from the 2nd July to 2nd August.
The Gallery is open Thursdays to Sundays and public holidays, 9.30am – 4.30pm.
The official Opening Night is July 4th.

Old SchoolHouse Gallery invites you to a spectacular explosion of colour and creativity for our August Exhibition: A Collective Fusion - Exploring the Abstract. You will find an exciting collection of artworks, ceramics, photography and leadlight lamps.
In conjunction with her own collection of beautiful acrylic floral artworks, gallery member Lenore Robbins has invited seven photographer friends from iPhotographMagic to join her: Cheryl Nancarrow, Noeleen Berg, Julie Geldard, Ann Ingham, Judi Neumann, Ian Brewster and Maureen Daly.
Sue Moyle, Lenore’s friend and brother’s partner, returns with her highly colourful functional and ornamental ceramics. Sue’s work was very popular when she displayed in 2025.
Also participating for his first time at the Gallery is Mike Duggan, with his stunning ornamental leadlight tower lamps that have captured Australiana wildlife and flora beautifully and delicately.

Drawing inspiration from the Drawing Animal exhibition, this masterclass invites participants to reflect on the complex connections between humans and animals.
Through experimental photography techniques, including long exposure and light painting, you will create expressive hybrid portraits using your own digital camera. Experimenting with handcrafted forms and coloured light, participants can produce dynamic images that blur the boundaries between species and imagination.

Drop-In Art Activity: Co-Create an Evolving Garden
Step into our workshop space and help grow an ever-changing, imagined garden inspired by the exhibitions Mountain No Mountain and Drawing Animal.
This free, drop-in activity invites visitors of all ages to become co-designers of a shared creative landscape.
Using art materials provided, create an element on paper - something abstract, playful, or inspired by what you have seen, then add it to the evolving garden wall. There’s no need to finish or perfect; contribute a small piece or different pieces and place wherever you think best in this garden.
With every addition, the garden transforms, it is shaped by every visitor who takes part.
Come by, get creative and leave your mark on a collective work that grows throughout the program.

These classes are designed for all levels of fitness with lots of options offered. You go at your own pace and ability; there is no floor work and no pressure. The ages range from 50 to 80 and beyond so you are in good company. It includes cardio, resistance work (all equipment supplied), stretching and relaxation in a friendly and safe environment. After each class, there is an opportunity to socialize and get to know one another, by having a cuppa in a nearby café plus there are fun monthly social events if you wish to join in. Prices are $16/class and a one-off Intro Deal of $60 for 5 classes with further discount class passes offered. You only pay when you attend.
