'We are all Different' - Art Exhibition
Community events
Starting in September, visit Redlands Coast Museum in southeast Queensland for a fascinating and varied art exhibition!
Some visual artists choose oils, acrylics, watercolour or pastels on paper, canvas or timber panels – each has distinct properties that lend themselves to different effects. Sculptors prefer clay, stone, metal, wood – these mediums dictate the tools and often the form of the artwork.
Richness and diversity of artist’s styles makes the art world incredibly rich and diverse. Imagine if everyone drew in the exact same style – it would be far less compelling!
This exhibition is a salute to the differences in artist’s work.
Presented by May Sheppard, Robin Wilson, Anna Bray, Leo Herreygers, Chris Huber, Peter Steller, Delisa Appleton and Sharyn Talbot.
General Entry cost:

Then on Wednesday, we’ll guide you through the next step: trimming your pieces, adding handles, and experimenting with surface decoration like carving or stamping to personalise your mugs.

Book of the month: Bright Objects
In this debut novel from Australian author Ruby Todd, a young woman grapples with the arrival of a once-in-a-lifetime comet and its tumultuous consequences.
Sylvia Knight is losing hope that the person who killed her husband will ever face justice. Since the night of the hit-and-run, her world has been shrouded in hazy darkness — until she meets Theo St. John, the discoverer of a rare comet soon to be visible to the naked eye.
As the comet begins to brighten, Sylvia wonders what the apparition might signify. She is soon drawn into the orbit of local mystic Joseph Evans, who believes the comet’s arrival is nothing short of a divine message. Finding herself caught between two conflicting perspectives of this celestial phenomenon, she struggles to define for herself where the reality lies. As the comet grows in the sky, her town slowly descends further and…

Book of the month: Death In The Air
Murder. It's terrible for your karma.
Even worse for your holiday.
Welcome to Samsara, a world-class spa nestled in the Indian Himalayas where all your wishes are only a gilded notecard away. Ro Krishna has just checked in. With his rakish charm, Oxford education, and perfect hair, he had it all – well, until he left his job under mysterious circumstances. It was super hectic, and Ro decides it's time for some much-needed R&R. At Samsara, he's free to explore the innumerable yoga classes, wellness treatments and guided meditation sessions on offer alongside the rest of the exclusive hotel's guests.
Until one of the guests – gorgeous, charismatic, well-connected, like most of them – is found dead. As everyone scrambles to figure out what happened, Ro is pulled into an investigation that endangers them all and threatens to spiral beyond the hotel walls.…

Craft Your Own Cauldron, Pumpkin Spirit, or Offering Jar
As the Wheel of the Year turns toward Samhain, the time of deep reflection, ancestor honouring, and magic-making draws near. In this earthy, hands-on pottery workshop with Diane, you’ll create a ritual vessel—a sacred object born of your hands, imbued with intention, and ready to serve your magical practice.
Choose to shape a witch’s cauldron, a grinning jack-o’-lantern spirit, or a ceremonial offering jar—each with its own symbolic power. Your piece will begin as a wheel-thrown base in earth speckled clay, and you will be guided to build upon it using traditional hand-building techniques, carving symbols, spirit faces, and sacred adornments into its surface.
🌕 What You May Create: A cauldron to hold herbs, ashes, moon water, or spell remnants , A jack-o’-lantern to protect your threshold and light the way for ancestral spirits , A treat jar or offering vessel to place on your altar with seasonal gifts, 🍂 What You’ll Learn: …

The Seasons show presented by Renata Jayne
IndigiScapes
What season is it now? What season is next? What is happening to the plants and animals? Young children will love this seasonal show.
I wonder what season it is now? What might the weather be like? What happens in the plant and animal worlds when the seasons change? What do we wear in each season? What activities can we enjoy? Who is hibernating and who is brumating?
The children become the actors in this educational show with help from the dress up box to tell a story about animals and their seasonal behaviours. We soon learn we change our clothes, animals change their furs and feathers to adapt to the season. Songs are enjoyed, snowmen with funny hats melt and the children have fun while they learn!
Pack a picnic rug for this interactive show presented by Renata Jayne, held on the outdoor stage beneath the trees at IndigiScapes.
Onsite parking, IndigiScapes Cafe, Nursery and Gift Shop open.

Children Free / Concession $8.00 / Adults $12.00.

When Lennore thinks of Genesis she thinks of “Looking forward, searching for new stimulation, new ideas, firmly grounded in what has come before.” Her "Genesis" is to find greater freedom to be expressive, to be bolder and more explorative, incorporating different textures and a combination of brushstrokes that require her to be less timid and more explosive. “Not only an artistic journey but a personal exploration of who I would like to be.” And when Hilary thinks of Genesis, “I think not just of the beginning but also the idea of restarting and beginning again, of renewal and fresh starts.
