'Creativity - Diversity' Textiles Exhibition

This eclectic exhibition of beautifully hand-crafted artworks is on display in the Dunn Wing Art Gallery at Redlands Coast Museum, from 30 April to 6 June 2025.
Fifteen members of the Queensland Branch of ATASDA (Australian Textile Art and Surface Design Association) have used a wide variety of mediums, techniques and styles to interpret the theme, and weave their personal narratives into their works. Embroidery, collage, upcycling, felting, patchwork, mixed media, surface design, stitching, lettering, stencilling, fabric manipulation and much more create a vibrant and cohesive display, showing that textile art has now become an exciting artform in its own right, and no longer merely serves a functional purpose as in the past. You will be intrigued and inspired by this stimulating, thought-provoking exhibition.
Featured artists, as ATASDA members and as individual artists, have exhibited locally across Australia and internationally.

This eclectic exhibition of beautifully hand-crafted artworks is on display in the Dunn Wing Art Gallery at Redlands Coast Museum, from 30 April to 6 June 2025.
Fifteen members of the Queensland Branch of ATASDA (Australian Textile Art and Surface Design Association) have used a wide variety of mediums, techniques and styles to interpret the theme, and weave their personal narratives into their works. Embroidery, collage, upcycling, felting, patchwork, mixed media, surface design, stitching, lettering, stencilling, fabric manipulation and much more create a vibrant and cohesive display, showing that textile art has now become an exciting artform in its own right, and no longer merely serves a functional purpose as in the past. You will be intrigued and inspired by this stimulating, thought-provoking exhibition.

Fifteen members of the Queensland Branch of ATASDA (Australian Textile Art and Surface Design Association) have used a wide variety of mediums, techniques and styles to interpret the theme, and weave their personal narratives into their works. Embroidery, collage, upcycling, felting, patchwork, mixed media, surface design, stitching, lettering, stencilling, fabric manipulation and much more create a vibrant and cohesive display, showing that textile art has now become an exciting artform in its own right, and no longer merely serves a functional purpose as in the past. You will be intrigued and inspired by this stimulating, thought-provoking exhibition.

INTRO TO METALSMITHING – 3D JEWELLERY
You can create a 3D flower or your own design.
Under the guidance of Silversmith Jemica Ostrofski, learn how to design and fabricate textured flower jewellery using recycled metals. The basic metalsmithing and silversmithing techniques of mark-making, hand sawing and soldering will be explored using various hammers, letter stamps, number stamps and other tools. You will have the opportunity to add your creative touches to your design along the way, while learning key techniques and skills.
The workshop will run for 4 hours during which you will be making 1-2 finished 3D designs.

The Asia-Pacific Tree Climbing Championship is an international sporting event for professional arborists. The competition pits the world’s best against one another, champion against champion, battling it out for Asia-Pacific’s top titles. The competition itself involves in a series of tests of agility, speed and skill, high in the canopy of the trees. The Bayview Blast is an XCM mountain biking event, hosted by the RATS Cycling Club, at the Bayview Conservation Area in Redland Bay.
The Blast returns at one of the best event bases around thanks to Redland City Council. The event village includes amenities, skills park, sealed carpark, toilets, bike wash and an outdoor shower.
This year's Bayview Blast will be held on Sunday 25 May 2025 as part of the Redland City Council's 'Redlands Coast AdventureFest'!

'Creativity - Diversity' Textiles Exhibition

This eclectic exhibition of beautifully hand-crafted artworks is on display in the Dunn Wing Art Gallery at Redlands Coast Museum, from 30 April to 6 June 2025.
Fifteen members of the Queensland Branch of ATASDA (Australian Textile Art and Surface Design Association) have used a wide variety of mediums, techniques and styles to interpret the theme, and weave their personal narratives into their works. Embroidery, collage, upcycling, felting, patchwork, mixed media, surface design, stitching, lettering, stencilling, fabric manipulation and much more create a vibrant and cohesive display, showing that textile art has now become an exciting artform in its own right, and no longer merely serves a functional purpose as in the past. You will be intrigued and inspired by this stimulating, thought-provoking exhibition.
Featured artists, as ATASDA members and as individual artists, have exhibited locally across Australia and internationally.

This eclectic exhibition of beautifully hand-crafted artworks is on display in the Dunn Wing Art Gallery at Redlands Coast Museum, from 30 April to 6 June 2025.
Fifteen members of the Queensland Branch of ATASDA (Australian Textile Art and Surface Design Association) have used a wide variety of mediums, techniques and styles to interpret the theme, and weave their personal narratives into their works. Embroidery, collage, upcycling, felting, patchwork, mixed media, surface design, stitching, lettering, stencilling, fabric manipulation and much more create a vibrant and cohesive display, showing that textile art has now become an exciting artform in its own right, and no longer merely serves a functional purpose as in the past. You will be intrigued and inspired by this stimulating, thought-provoking exhibition.

Old SchoolHouse Gallery Community Salon Wall an exciting new monthly initiative at our wonderful Gallery.
Each month, one wall of the siding gallery will be set aside to hang artwork of a limited size by artists from across our Redlands Coast community.
Approximately 30 paintings may be hung, so send back your expression of interest as soon as possible.
Each month, Old SchoolHouse Gallery hosts an Opening Night event. These events are free of charge, and you are invited to attend as well as bring guests, check out our Facebook page for dates.

This eclectic exhibition of beautifully hand-crafted artworks is on display in the Dunn Wing Art Gallery at Redlands Coast Museum, from 30 April to 6 June 2025.
Fifteen members of the Queensland Branch of ATASDA (Australian Textile Art and Surface Design Association) have used a wide variety of mediums, techniques and styles to interpret the theme, and weave their personal narratives into their works. Embroidery, collage, upcycling, felting, patchwork, mixed media, surface design, stitching, lettering, stencilling, fabric manipulation and much more create a vibrant and cohesive display, showing that textile art has now become an exciting artform in its own right, and no longer merely serves a functional purpose as in the past. You will be intrigued and inspired by this stimulating, thought-provoking exhibition.
Featured artists, as ATASDA members and as individual artists, have exhibited locally across Australia and internationally.

The Book Plate Art Project - Redlands invites artists to create small postcard size artworks, that will be hidden in books for readers to discover at all Redland City Council Libraries throughout June. Readers can either keep the small artwork or leave it for the next person to discover. Leading artists are taking part including Michael Zavros, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins and Renata Buziak as well as photographer Kara Rosenlund and emerging Quandamooka artists Mahala Burns, and Mikayla Queary. The project aims to make 400 book plates by commissioned and volunteer artists by the end of June to share with library visitors.
The project is an opportunity to highlight public libraries as community hubs for culture, literacy, and places where creative things happen. It also aims to enhance libraries’ connections with the community and celebrate the vital role that art, stories, and free libraries play in Redlands.

'Creativity - Diversity' Textiles Exhibition

This eclectic exhibition of beautifully hand-crafted artworks is on display in the Dunn Wing Art Gallery at Redlands Coast Museum, from 30 April to 6 June 2025.
Fifteen members of the Queensland Branch of ATASDA (Australian Textile Art and Surface Design Association) have used a wide variety of mediums, techniques and styles to interpret the theme, and weave their personal narratives into their works. Embroidery, collage, upcycling, felting, patchwork, mixed media, surface design, stitching, lettering, stencilling, fabric manipulation and much more create a vibrant and cohesive display, showing that textile art has now become an exciting artform in its own right, and no longer merely serves a functional purpose as in the past. You will be intrigued and inspired by this stimulating, thought-provoking exhibition.
Featured artists, as ATASDA members and as individual artists, have exhibited locally across Australia and internationally.
