Join other like-minded volunteers to help protect and restore Brisbane’s unique biodiversity through our Habitat Brisbane program. Celebrate Grandparents Day on a guided night walk and share an intergenerational love of nature as you try your hand at spotting nocturnal wildlife in Raven Street Reserve. Join us for a morning of exploration and connection, where parents and children aged 0-1 can play, learn, and make new friends.

Social nature journaling
Meet at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre on the last Friday afternoon of each month (except public holidays). These informal sessions are facilitated by environment centre staff and are suitable for beginners and those who have already started nature journaling. Enjoy a cuppa during a short introduction to nature journaling, then join a gentle guided walk for practice and inspiration, find your own quiet sit-spot, or continue at the shelter. The group will meet back at the shelter to finish up, and then participants are welcome to continue journaling in the natural beauty of the reserve. Requirements: Please bring your own basic sketch/art pad. A volunteer guide will lead you around the trail, visiting the Bird Hide, observe distinct changes in vegetation, and discover why Boondall Wetlands is an internationally important conservation area.
