It’s hard to imagine, but in three weeks, we’ll be marking the 10th anniversary of the onset of the Aliso Canyon gas blowout. Save Porter Ranch and Food & Water Watch have been planning a town hall to commemorate the disaster that resulted in 111 days of uncontrolled methane and many other chemicals being blown at least 12 miles throughout the San Fernando Valley.
They will have speakers discussing the ongoing health study, the independent fenceline monitoring system (including the new phone app), an upcoming sustainability project that is funded by penalties against SoCalGas, and other topics that should be of interest to you. One of their special speakers will be Dr. Jeffrey Nordella, who has been informing the affected areas about possible health risks for ten years.

Veterans Day
National Holidays
Veterans Day is an official United States holiday honoring all those who have served in armed service.
Thank You For Your Service!
Veterans Day is an official United States holiday that honors people who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, also known as veterans. It is a federal holiday that is observed on November 11. It coincides with other holidays such as Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, which are celebrated in other parts of the world and also mark the anniversary of the end of World War I (major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany went into effect). The United States also originally observed Armistice Day; it then evolved into the current Veterans Day holiday in 1954.
Veterans Day is not to be confused with Memorial Day; Veterans Day celebrates the service of all U.S. military veterans, while Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving.
