The City of Long Beach Department of Public Works invites community members to attend a community meeting to learn more about the 10th Street Greenbelt Project, on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Recreation Park Community Center (4900 E 7th St.). At the meeting, City staff will share the final design that has been informed by continued collaboration with the community, particularly the Greenbelt Heights Neighborhood Association. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the next phase of improvements, which are planned to begin construction by early 2027 and be completed by fall 2027, barring weather and unforeseen conditions.
Interpretation services in Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog are available upon request by Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

Secure document disposal at no cost!
The Department of Energy and Environmental Services invites Long Beach residents to participate in upcoming shred events offering no-cost, secure disposal of sensitive documents. Shredded paper is not recyclable in curbside recycling carts. Take advantage of this opportunity to securely shred documents and ensure the paper is recycled right.
During each event, two mobile shredding trucks will be on-site until 10 a.m. or until the trucks reach capacity.
