Be S.A.F.E. (Summer Activities in a Friendly Environment) offers free recreation activities at 11 City parks weekdays Monday, June 15 through Friday, August 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. Residents have many options for spending time together including arts and crafts, games, sports, science activities, and special events such as movies sponsored by the Port of Long Beach and cultural events.

Movies in the Park, sponsored by Signal Hill Petroleum and Partners of Parks, will offer free, family-friendly movies at various parks throughout Long Beach and Signal Hill from June 15 – August 21. Come early for a jumper for the kids, movie themed crafts and nightly drawings (one ticket per family). Recreation activities begin at 6 p.m. movie begins at dusk. Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic-style dinners and their family and friends. Final Concert of the Summer Featuring RemiX

The City of Long Beach Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine (PRM) will celebrate the end of summer by hosting a free concert featuring Southern California funk, R&B and new jack swing band, RemiX. Community members are invited to come together for one last unforgettable summer evening as PRM closes out a robust season of family-friendly programming and events. The concert will take place Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at El Dorado Park West (2800 N. Studebaker Rd.).
Pre-concert activities including face painting and games will begin at 5 p.m. with the concert taking place from 6 to 8 p.m. The concert will take place near the corner of Studebaker Road and Willow Street. Concert goers are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnic-style dinners and snacks to enjoy while they watch.

Join the 42nd Annual California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to noon and help keep Long Beach’s coastline clean and healthy!
Volunteers can participate at beaches throughout the city. Gloves and trash bags will be provided, or participants may bring reusable supplies such as work gloves, buckets and grabbers. Free parking will be available to volunteers in the nearest beach lot for the duration of the event.
