Celebrate Black History Month with Performances of “Black Mosaic”

Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine will once again host performances of “Black Mosaic,” a free music and dance showcase that celebrates and honors the history and contributions of the Black community – this year featuring local elementary school students. The community is encouraged to attend one of three performances happening this month.  Performances will feature works ranging from William Shakespeare to Maya Angelou and weave together the layered and complex moments of Black history through humor, reflection, resilience and critique.  This is the second year PRM has partnered with Dr. Andrews to host these community performances in recognition of Black History Month. Animal Care Services Long Beach Animal Care Services (LBACS) and Community Animal Medicine Project (CAMP) are teaming up to bring you a low-cost vaccine clinic because every pet deserves to be happy and healthy. The clinic is open to the first 60 pets. Please also note the following information:  All are welcome to participate. You do not have to be a resident of Long Beach or our contract cities (Signal Hill, Los Alamitos, or Cerritos) to participate. Mutt Run

Animal Care Services The mutt rub starts at the Granada Launch Ramp at Rosie’s Dog Beach, the race course on the beach pedestrian path follows along the scenic Long Beach shoreline going toward the pier. Paid parking ($2 for the first hour) is available at the 54th & Claremont lot and the La Verne lot.
