Through lecture, discussions and hands-on activities, Emeritus professor Shawna Martinez will show you how to identify native plants and to see botanical relationships. One house belongs to Flo Owens, who lives there with her two daughters, Madge and Millie, and a schoolteacher boarder. The other house belongs to Helen Potts, who lives with her elderly and invalid mother. When a young man named Hal Carter takes a shine to Madge, their sudden passion for each other disrupts the ordinariness of the houses’ routines, causing long-dormant desires to explode with ramifications of love and heartbreak that no one expects.

What is a Pow Wow?
A Pow Wow is a Native American tradition that brings together many different tribes and communities. Pow Wows are cultural celebrations that include dancing, singing, socializing, crafts, arts, and food.
About Big Time/Pow Wow
This event is open to the public and will be a competition Pow Wow with a variety of food and craft vendors. There will also be more than 35 informational booths and 130 native dancers.
