The Sierra College Theatre Arts Department is casting for 11-13 actors, some playing multiple roles, including one young girl for Frankenstein; Or, The Modern Prometheus adapted by Robert Lewis Vaughan from the original 1818 edition of the novel by Mary Shelley.
AUDITION PROCESS, Auditions consist of cold readings. Auditioners are encouraged to prepare a one-minute dramatic monologue from a published stage play. (Please avoid screenplays, teleplays, original writing, or song lyrics.) Monologues should best portray actor's strengths and must be memorized. It is requested that auditioners bring TWO copies of 8x10 color photo-headshots attached back-to-back to their resumes of acting experience, but this is not required. At this training session you will receive sign up materials and a tour guide handbook. Upon completion of sign up and training, participants can lead guided tours of the Museum and the Nature Trail! ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
Gain valuable skills using appropriate resources, tools and scientific language to overcome common challenges in plant identification. Through lecture, discussions and hands-on activities, Emeritus professor Shawna Martinez will show you how to identify native plants and to see botanical relationships. You’ll practice using dichotomous keys and be trained to recognize the characteristics so you can identify the most common plant families. California’s oak woodlands support birds that are so common they seem ordinary. But some species have unique physical characteristics, abilities, and behaviors that aren’t obvious to the ordinary human. Kate Marianchild, author of Secrets of the Oak Woodlands, will tell us stories of tender spousal ministrations, strange nest materials, bizarre social structures, and deceptive mimicry that will boggle our minds.
