Sway Wild

Sway Wild is the artistic collaboration between internationally acclaimed indie folk-rockers Mandy Fer & Dave McGraw. Sway Wild was born on a small island in the Salish Sea. Following a two-month sailing voyage through the remote anchorages of British Columbia, acclaimed indie-folk duo Dave McGraw & Mandy Fer, returned to their San Juan Island, Washington home still hungry to explore. The result was nothing short of an artistic epiphany; an evolution of sound that called out loudly for a new name. Sway Wild released its self-titled debut album worldwide in 2019. Sway Wild’s infectious sound explores the corners of rock, pop, funk, and folk, but at its nucleus it is undeniably a music full of joy. It can squeeze the heart in your chest, it can draw tears from your eyes, and it can force you to get up and move your body; over and over, it somehow manages to do all three at once. Fer and McGraw’s gorgeous harmonies paired with moving lyrics serve to both process and share their jubilation, grief, and frustrati… Category: Music. Outdoors/Recreation. I'M WITH HER W/ KEN POMEROY

With the 2014 formation of I’m With Her, singer/songwriters Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan, and Sara Watkins introduced an essential new force into the world of folk music: a close-knit alliance of highly esteemed musicians, each graced with a deep understanding of folk tradition and unbridled passion for expanding its possibilities. Since delivering their critically lauded debut See You Around and standalone singles like “Call My Name” (winner of the 2020 Grammy for Best American Roots Song), the trio have routinely taken time out from their individual careers to dream up songs together—eventually arriving at a new album exploring themes of ancestry, lineage, and the collective human experience. On their long-awaited sophomore LP Wild and Clear and Blue, I’m With Her now bring their luminous harmonies to a soul-searching body of work about reaching into the past, navigating a chaotic present, and bravely moving forward into the unknown. In a departure from the stripped-back intimacy of See You Around—a 2018… Category: Music. Outdoors/Recreation. Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM. 40 Jesup Rd, Westport, CT 06880. Pete Muller & The Kindred Souls

Pete Muller & The Kindred Souls blend folk intimacy with classic pop charm and jazz sophistication to deliver organic, harmony-rich performances that explore the crossroads of American roots and soul music. Pete Muller is a problem solver. Whether he’s writing songs for his critically acclaimed albums, revolutionizing the way Wall Street works through applied mathematics, or crafting crosswords for The New York Times and Washington Post, the hyper-talented renaissance man always seems to have his eye on unlocking some deeper level of understanding, on reaching some higher plane of enlightenment. Pete is currently rolling out his sixth solo album, More Time. Recorded in Memphis with producer/engineer Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price) and featuring a duet with Lisa Loeb, the collection marks a dramatic leap forward for Muller, who finds himself exploring the push and pull of responsibility and desire, predictability and adventure, commitment and temptation. On any given night, the band will perform a show based on a set list from the Grateful Dead's 30 years of extensive touring or use their catalog to program a unique set list for the show. This allows fans both young and old to share in the experience. By recreating set lists from the past, and by developing their own sets of Dead songs, Dark Star Orchestra offers a continually evolving artistic outlet within this musical canon. Honoring both the band and the fans, Dark Star Orchestra's members seek out the unique style and sound of each era while simultaneously offering their own informed improvisations. Dark Star Orchestra offers much more than the sound of the Grateful Dead, they truly encapsulate the energy and the experience. It's about a sense of familiarity. It's… Category: Music. Ukrainian Village Voices in Concert July 20 in Weston

The Friends of the Weston Library and the Weston-Siversk Sister-City Partnership present Ukrainian Village Voices in concert, Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 4 pm at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Weston. Ukrainian Village Voices (UVV) is a New York City-based ensemble of Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian singers, whose mission is to preserve and revive the traditional polyphonic singing style of Ukraine’s villages. UVV’s repertoire is constantly evolving, frequently focusing on seasonal celebrations, ritual songs, and lyrical music. They often sing songs recorded by ethnomusicologists from the oldest dwellers of villages in Ukraine, or those they heard themselves while on expeditions to various villages in the following oblasts in Ukraine: Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk. UVV pays homage to the ancient spirit of these songs while also naturally bringing a unique North American feel to the music. UVV has performed for a wide range of audiences in the New York metropolitan area and oth… Category: Music. Sunday, July 20, 2025, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. The Sweet Remains

THE SWEET REMAINS is the the very rare all-independent band to have nearly 50 MILLION SPOTIFY streams and counting! They're also unusual on today's music scene as a band headed by 3 gifted singer-songwriters, each of whom contribute to the writing and 3-part harmonies that define the band's sound. Driven by strong lyrical and melodic writing, their songs easily appeal to fans of modern folk-rockers like Jason Mraz, Ray Lamontagne, and John Mayer. However, it is their lush harmonies, that distinguish tSR from the throngs of guitar-toting troubadors and harken back to super-groups of the 60's and 70's like CSN, the Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel. tSR is: RICH PRICE (Burlington, VT - www.richpricemusic.com), GREG NAUGHTON (NYC), and BRIAN CHARTRAND (Phoenix, AZ - www.brianchartrand.com). The Moonrise Cartel

The Moonrise Cartel is an original American folk rock band blending folk, indie rock, and Americana with a touch of gospel. The band features soaring harmonies, introspective lyrics, and a vintage sound profile that is reminiscent of the Laurel Canyon music scene balanced with a modern touch to be equal parts timeless and for the time. Fueled by songwriter Al Pascarelli’s deeply personal writings of a lifelong battle with mental illness, alcoholism, and eventual emergence out of the darker shades of the human experience, this is a band with several gears and one that takes you on an incredible journey. His voice is coupled upfront by Stephanie Harrison who wows with striking vocal prowess, bobbing effortlessly between stunning power and heartbreakingly delicate delivery. It is all held together on the rock-solid backdrop of Benj LeFevre and Steve Tobey on the low end of bass and drums. Category: Music. Outdoors/Recreation. Tom Hamilton

Tom Hamilton's guiding creative principle is very simple: he doesn't like to repeat himself artistically. For the Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter and guitarist, this mindset stems from a deep-seated motivation to keep pushing himself as an artist — to delve into different lyrical themes and musical detours, to explore potentially uncomfortable and unfamiliar emotional places. "That's a thrilling prospect," says Hamilton. "To find the deeper things inside and to open up those doors that I didn't even know were there." As founding member of Brothers Past, American Babies, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Ghost Light and Billy and The Kids, Hamilton has written/recorded roughly a dozen albums and EPs and shared the stage with everyone from John Mayer to Bob Weir to Billy Strings. Hamilton's debut record as a solo artist will be released in late 2025. Don't miss this special free performance by Tom Hamilton and his band at the Levitt Pavilion! Category: Music. Infused with an irresistible blend of vibrancy and skill, these remarkable women command the stage, welcoming salserxs of all levels and ages. Drawing inspiration from her Cali, Colombia heritage—the global epicenter of salsa—Andrea embarked on a mission to address the void of female ensembles within the live music scene in New York City. This ambition led to the creation of Lulada Club in 2022. Renowned for their masterful interpretations of vintage tropical rhythms encompassing salsa, bolero, and cha-cha-cha, the powerhouse band pays homage to the icons while offering a fresh perspective through their original tunes. THE WOOD BROTHERS w/ MASON VIA

The Wood Brothers have learned to trust their hearts. For the better part of two decades, they've cemented their reputation as freethinking songwriters, road warriors, and community builders, creating a catalog of diverse music and a loyal audience who’ve grown alongside them through the years. Recorded analog to 16-track tape, this latest effort finds its three creators embracing the chemistry of their acclaimed live shows by capturing their performances in real-time direct from the studio floor with nary a computer in sight. An acoustic-driven album that electrifies, Heart is the Hero is stocked with songs that target not only the heart, but the head and hips, too. "We love records that come from the era of less tracks and more care," explains co-founder Oliver Wood. "When you use a computer during the tracking process, you have an infinite number of tracks at your disposal, which implies that nothing is permanent, and everyt… Category: Music. Adult Workshop: Baroque Portrait Photography with Lewis Derogene

In conjunction with Tod Papageorge: At the Beach + In the Pool: On Influence, we invite you for an evening of classical portrait-making with artist and photographer Lewis Derogene. Bring your camera or smartphone + bring a partner too, as you’ll be photographing each other! You’ll learn how to set up lighting and backdrops, use fabric and props to build a scene, and frame portraits that feel both timeless and personal. At the end of class, participants will upload their top shots for a group critique. Images will be displayed on a large monitor for constructive feedback and shared inspiration. Participan… Category: Art Exhibition. Community. Education. Hobbies. Lectures, Presentations, Workshops. Visual Arts. Thursday, August 28, 2025, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
