About the Program Originally launched in the summer of 2020, the Black, Indigenous, People of Color Surviving Predominantly White Institution Series is a multi-part series designed to share strategies for: interfacing with white leadership; , what to do when sh*t goes down; , how to cultivate BIPOC solidarity; , how to create a sustainable system of self-care; and , how to know when it’s time to go and create an exit strategy. ​Goals of Series: Create a community of support for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) who are either actively working, have worked, or considering working in a predominantly white institution (PWI);  , Break through the isolation experienced by BIPOC who are often the only one or one of few inside of white institutions; , Provide fundamental concepts and terminology to support and empower BIPOC folks in identifying and navigating racism while working in PWIs;  , Activate wellness and healing for BIPOC folks as central to surviving and thriving; and , Provide and inspire… Organization: artEquity. Arts BC welcomes you to join us virtually on Zoom bi-weekly on Tuesdays for our Community Arts Province-Wide Roundtable Call. We started these roundtable calls as a response to the challenges we continue to face in our community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. During each roundtable, we share updates and resources relevant to those working in arts and culture. Participants are encouraged to share their impacts, questions, concerns, or simply listen. It is a great way to connect with peers and keep up to date on announcements, funding opportunities, and events. It's also a space for members to share information and ask questions with their peers.
