Drawing inspiration from everyday birds, plants and weather, Pete’s playful, folksy style and sophisticated songwriting has been featured on CBC's Here and Now, Owl Magazine and City TV. Special Art Exhibit: 100 Years of Camping in Algonquin Park & Fully Completely
View the Algonquin Park related works of Kathleen Earl Fox and Andrew Zahorouski in the Algonquin Room at the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre from May 1 to July 1, 2026. Over the course of a year, the Visitor Centre’s Algonquin Room presents different exhibitions of Algonquin-themed art by area artists. The art is available for sale and a portion of each sale is dedicated to The Friends of Algonquin Park who, in turn, use these monies to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin. Stop by to view some exciting work, and maybe meet the artist, too! This exhibit is open during the operating dates and hours of the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre.

Algonquin Park Canoeing Workshop
The Friends of Algonquin Park are pleased to offer on-the-water Experience Algonquin Workshops for visitors who wish to learn the basics of canoeing. Designed for participants that have no, or little, canoeing experience, spend 3-hours learning the fundamentals of tandem canoeing with a certified canoe instructor. Discover canoe strokes from the bow and stern, how to safely enter and exit a canoe, how to stay upright, what to do in an emergency, portage techniques, and much more. An excellent workshop for families or former canoeists wishing to improve their skills on the water and build their confidence with safe canoeing practices.
Requirements, No canoeing experience is required. This in an introductory course to learn the fundamentals of tandem canoeing. Participants must be 13 years of age or older. Meet the Researcher Day
The Friends of Algonquin Park and the Algonquin Wildlife Research Station invites you to spend time with researchers who use Algonquin Park as their laboratory. Meet those who study reptiles and amphibians, birds, small mammals, fish, wolves, and even humans (through archaeology).
A fundraising barbecue (noon to 2:00pm, or while quantities last) is hosted by The Friends of Algonquin Park in support of research in the Park, and free draws take place for great prizes generously donated by local businesses and organizations. Suitable for all ages.
