Pastor Barnabas and his family live in a tent that’s smaller than a double mattress in an IDP camp in Nigeria. They lost their home because militants attacked their village, and have been cast aside, feeling forgotten by the world, for 5 years.
For some believers around the world, the church has no formal place to call home. Church closures, forced evictions, mass displacement or the need for extreme secrecy means that church communities have difficulty gathering and worshipping together.
But despite this, the Church finds ways to meet, holding onto the Lord, Who is always with them.
Join Open Doors for a special presentation featuring stories of persecuted believers who are boldly following Jesus no matter the cost. You will hear about the latest World Watch research and have the opportunity to stand in prayer for the global church.

Our guest presenter will be Chris Ivany who is the lead pastor of Rock Church in Halifax, a church he grew up attending. In the last number of years Rock Church has put an extra effort into creating a culture of prayer and they are seeing the fruit of extraordinary prayer. Chris has also recently taken the leadership of Pray Nova Scotia which gathers pastors and leaders each month from across the province to pray together. Chris and his wife Jen are blessed to pastor together and they have 5 children.
After Chris shares we will gather for prayer in breakout rooms of 8-10 people to pray for a gospel witness in our communities and spiritual awakening in Canada.

The conference will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at St. John's College, located on the campus of the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg. A public lecture will also be held the evening before, on Friday, May 29 at a church in Winnipeg (location to be announced). CATA will be meeting alongside of other Canadian academic theological and religious societies as part of the inaugural Canadian Theology and Religion Colloquium. The overarching theme of the colloquium is “Common Places, Contested Spaces: Religion and Theology in Canada and Beyond.”.

The annual event is an opportunity for the Christian community in Hamilton to gather together to support and honour our local Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) Mayor and City Councillors, as well as our first responders and community leaders, and lift them up in prayer.
This year's speaker is Kevin Rempel - a World Champion, Paralympic Bronze medalist in sledge hockey, and speaker who knows what it means to fight your way through adversity. After a freestyle motocross crash left him paralyzed, doctors told him he might never walk again. A year later, he proved them wrong, learning not just to walk, but to compete for Canada on the world stage.
Through his journey from injury to the Paralympics, Kevin discovered that choosing the right mindset is key to getting back up. However, after walking away from Jesus for nearly 20 years and returning to God in 2024, he’s now recognized that it was God who carried him all along and now loves to share his testimony to give others hope…

This is a day for all Canadians to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. The Canadian Constitution recognizes these three groups as Aboriginal peoples, also known as Indigenous peoples.
Although these groups share many similarities, they each have their own distinct heritage, language, cultural practices and spiritual beliefs.
In cooperation with Indigenous organizations, the Government of Canada chose June 21, the summer solstice, for National Aboriginal Day, now known as National Indigenous Peoples Day. For generations, many Indigenous peoples and communities have celebrated their culture and heritage on or near this day due to the significance of the summer solstice as the longest day of the year.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual national solemn assembly in our nation's capital in the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14. It was established in 2025 by a broad group of Christian leaders and ministries. Read history. 2026 registration is now open..
This year’s gathering is expected to bring together more than 500 leaders from across the nation for a concentrated time of intercession and unity. The event will culminate in a major outdoor gathering converging with the March for Jesus, which organizers anticipate will draw nearly 10,000 participants. Last year’s event attracted approximately 6,000 attendees, signalling a growing hunger among Canadians to publicly unite in prayer and faith.
