Teen and Young Adult Outdoor Skills: Fire Building

Learn how to make a fire. Once you have learned, you will build your own fire! We will be cooking over the main fire to make fries. We will be outside during the duration of the program, and will be near a small amount of smoke that comes from the fire. Materials for fire building and fry making will be provided, but make sure to bring water, layers, sunscreen, and anything else you might want. This activity is geared towards teens and young adults, minors need to be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers needed: Rain Garden Aquatic Planting Day

Join us for this planting workday where we will be adding native plants to the bioswale in Dolph Park. We plan to plant along the shoreline and within the bottom of the bioswale. We’ll use a new, fun way of planting aquatic plants where we wrap the roots of the plant with a biodegradable sack holding a rock and then toss the plant into the water. The rock will let the roots sink down where it will take root. Bring sturdy boots or tall rubber boots, if you have them, but we will be able to plant by standing on dry land.
