Brief Bio:
Christopher P. Holstege, M.D. serves as the University of Virginia’s Senior Associate Vice President of Student Health & Wellness. He also is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Virginia’s School of Medicine and Chief of the University of Virginia’s Division of Medical Toxicology. Dr. Holstege cares for patients, including students, at UVA Health and through his efforts associated with his role as the Director the Blue Ridge Poison Center. He also works actively in forensics and is a consultant to the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit. He teaches regularly, both in the classroom and at the bedside. Dr. Holstege conducts clinical, basic science and epidemiological research. He has over 300 publications in medical journals, periodicals, and books. His current research focus is in part dedicated to the study of student populations and the unique risks to that population. He established the University of Virginia’s Student Health Office of Research Excellence (SHORE).…
