The die, rolled by an audience volunteer, determines how the scene goes: 10 or higher, it is a success, but if it is 10 or lower, that’s not good news for the adventurers. YesAndventures will be performing every Sunday night at 6 pm on the following dates at South of Broadway Theatre in North Charleston: Sunday, September 11th Sunday, September 18th Sunday, September 25th Sunday, October 2nd Tickets are available at www.southofbroadway.com. Chintz: A Quilted History

Today “chintzy” might refer to a clashing pattern or a frilly outdated design, but in the 18th and 19th centuries chintz was one of the most valued textiles in the world. Come rediscover the beauty of chintz through quilts from the Historic Textiles Collection, and learn about the global tradeways that brought the textile to South Carolina. Chintz was brought to Western European markets in the early 17th century through chartered trading companies, though India had been exporting it for centuries. Initially adopted in Europe as a furnishing textile, wealthy families used large swaths of chintz to curtain and cover their beds. Often these reproductions were designed with Western taste in mind and made at a reduced cost in order to increase profit. Eventually the material evolved into an entirely different product, with varyin… Event Type: Arts and Culture. Monday, October 3, 2022, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Charleston Museum.
