The Detour: How Dare You!?
Have you ever had to make a decision when you weren't 100% sure you were right? What about a decision where you wondered if you were even the right person to make the decision? Many of us have had moments that have been outside our comfort zone and shaken our confidence. This is all the more true for change leaders because there are not maps to where we are going. And yet, we have to make decisions anyway.
That's why The Detour has asked Amari Morton, Founder of Great Change Health, to explore ways to develop our confidence as leaders. Greater Change Health works with individuals, families, and organizations to offer on-demand and accessible therapy services. As a Founder and leader in the mental health space, Amari is well-equipped to facilitate us on a journey to maintain the confidence we need to lead effectively. Here is what we promise:
- Clarity: You will leave The Detour with at least one clear action step you can take to lead with more confidence

Bioentrepreneurship Networking—
June 18 — 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. HSRB-II, 6th floor, N600: Join Emory University’s School of Medicine Innovation Center for its Bioentrepreneurship Networking event featuring guest speaker Connie Casteel, SBIR/STTR Catalyst at ATDC. Developing new products and services is essential in today's world, yet many entrepreneurs and small companies struggle to secure the funding needed to move their innovations forward. If you're seeking support to turn your idea into a viable product—but have been told it’s unproven, too risky, or too early for private investment—non‑dilutive federal funding through the SBIR and STTR programs may be a good fit. Don’t miss out on this exciting chance to connect, learn, and collaborate. Food will be provided, and all are welcome to attend. Please RSVP to attend the session on Thurs, June 18 from 4:30 –6:00pm.

The Detour: Gen Z is Here, What Do They Want?
So you have hired your first Gen Z employee. Now what? Do you have to become social media literate? What is the best way to train them? How can you ensure they have an engaging early career experience? Aren't they extremely prone to job hopping? How can you set them up for career success?
Questions like these are why The Detour has asked Scott Doyne, coach, author, and sports media executive, to share from his research and coaching practice. Scott wants to equip Gen Z and the people that lead them to move forward together with greater success and less anxiety. Here is what we promise:
