First Friday | Ice Age Mammals

February First Friday | Ice Age Mammals Friday, February 6, 2026 @ 6 p.m. What is Michigan's state fossil? It's not the petoskey-though it probably should be. In 1935 a giant beaver was discovered in Lapeer County believed to have weighed 400-600 pounds. Five more have been found.
