Infant Care with Safety and CPR
UMMC Childbirth Classes
This class will be held virtually.
Taught by registered nurses using evidence-based practice, this interactive class covers basic infant care such as bathing, cord care, diapering, temperature taking, and circumcision care. Household baby-proofing and basic infant first aid are discussed along with safe sleep environment and car seat safety. Using the American Heart Association Infant CPR Anytime program, infant and child CPR and choking rescue methods will be taught.

The Liver Transplant Support Group is a patient-centered program designed to educate, empower and support individuals living with liver disease, those awaiting transplant and post-transplant recipients.
This session will focus on medication management prior to and following liver transplantation and the essential role medications play in protecting the transplanted liver and maintaining overall health. In recognition of National Stop the Bleed Awareness Week and National Trauma Awareness Month, Maryland Committee on Trauma will have a large event on May 17 to promote statewide safety readiness - Be Ready Maryland Day. Stop the Bleed trainings will be held throughout the day on May 17th and at various other locations throughout the state during the remainder of the week. We hope you can join us at the large event or another Stop the Bleed training!
FREE Stop the Bleed personal kit provided to participants age 18 and over ($45 value)!
In this course you’ll learn three quick techniques to help save a life before someone bleeds out:
(1) How to use your hands to apply pressure to a wound;
(2) How to pack a wound to control bleeding;
(3) How to correctly apply a tourniquet.
These three techniques will empower you to assist in an emergency and potentially save a life.
