Scarborough Fair: A Simon & Garfunkel Experience

Jeb and Jock Guthrie, the GUTHRIE BROTHERS, knew the first time they played a Simon and Garfunkel song that they had a natural and almost spiritual connection to it. “Our voices blended effortlessly into that S & G signature sound, and the overwhelming audience reaction to our performance confirmed our feelings,” says Jock. “Since that first performance, we have worked to perfect our tribute to these two amazing artists.” The brothers perform this tribute with startling authenticity in an “unplugged” acoustic style. The two have been singing together for as long as either one of them can remember-–a major reason for the perfect blend of their harmonies. Both Jock and Jeb play acoustic guitar and sing. Taxes and fees may apply. No refunds or exchanges. Please call 863-494-9362 for special needs seating or group rates. Cost: $20 to $45. For America: Paintings from the National Academy of Design

For America: Paintings from the National Academy of Design is the first exhibition to highlight a pivotal aspect of the collection of the National Academy of Design (NAD) — the joint presentation of an artist’s portrait with his or her diploma work. From its founding in 1825 to the present, the NAD has required all Academicians to donate a representative work to the Academy’s collection, and, from 1839 to 1994, the Academy also required Associates to present a portrait of themselves, whether painted by their own hand or that of a fellow artist. Hours may vary due to holidays. Cost: Gallery admission is $10 and free for members and children 14 and younger. Ticket Web Link: www.fourarts.org. Ticket Phone: 5616557227. Saturday, April 11, 2020.
