Regular games start at 7 p.m. and payouts are roughly 75 percent of pay-ins. There are 7 regular games that come in packets with 3, 6, or 12 cards per page at $8, $15, and $20, respectively. Meet us in Central Park at 10 am and learn how Texas State Parks are here for everyone.
Adaptive activities will include:
Paddling: We will have a kayak transfer chair to help you get on the water and boat rental fees will be waived during this event.
Birding: Learn to bird by sight and sound with an amazing park volunteer.
Fishing: The TPWD derby pond will be set up and stocked with over 200 catfish. Anglers will be able to keep their catches up to a limit, TBD. Bring an ice chest or cooler to take your fish home to eat!!! A local game warden will be on site to answer your hunting and fishing questions. There will be adaptive fishing equipment available for use.
Educational Exhibits: Volunteers will host a variety of fun and educational programs and exhibits.
Archery: Archery instructors will guide you through this fun activity taking aim at various targets. Adaptive archery equipment is available.

Starting April 29 at 10:30 a.m. Lakeshore Library hosts a series of fun and inspirational writing workshops that will help writers of all levels discover their powerful life stories.
Terri Schexnayder, author and writing instructor, will offer prompts based on poetry, fiction or nonfiction to generate ideas for your memoir. All you have to bring is paper and a writing instrument, and the willingness to write your stories. In this session, we'll draw maps to pull out stories from specific periods of time and write about those memories.

The Highland Lakes VFW Post 6974 hosts charity bingo Mondays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m.; sale starts at 5 p.m. Early birds begin at 6 p.m.; includes 6 games at $1 per card that pays $50 and 1 double action game at $2 per card that pays $100. Regular games start at 7 p.m. and payouts are roughly 75 percent of pay-ins. There are 7 regular games that come in packets with 3, 6, or 12 cards per page at $8, $15, and $20, respectively. There are also 3 speed mini-games at $1 per card. The VFW tries to play as many pull tabs as it can get in a session that range from $100 to $1,000 payouts. Hill Country Community Theatre hosts the first annual “Act Like a Golfer” Golf Tournament Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Hidden Falls Golf Course in Meadowlakes.
This fun-filled fundraiser will bring together golfers, community members, and supporters of the arts for a day on the course benefiting HCCT’s live theatre productions and arts education programming. Designed as a four-person scramble, the tournament promises friendly competition, exciting contests, and plenty of opportunities to support live theatre in the Highland Lakes.
Registration will begin at 7:30 AM, with a shotgun start at 9:00 AM. Entry fees are $100 per player or $375 per team of four.
Participants will compete for a variety of prizes and special contests throughout the day, including a hole-in-one opportunity to win a Chevy, as well as the Longest Drive and Most Impressive Costume contests.

The Highland Lakes VFW Post 6974 hosts charity bingo Mondays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. Doors open at 4 p.m.; sale starts at 5 p.m. Early birds begin at 6 p.m.; includes 6 games at $1 per card that pays $50 and 1 double action game at $2 per card that pays $100. Regular games start at 7 p.m. and payouts are roughly 75 percent of pay-ins. There are 7 regular games that come in packets with 3, 6, or 12 cards per page at $8, $15, and $20, respectively. There are also 3 speed mini-games at $1 per card. The VFW tries to play as many pull tabs as it can get in a session that range from $100 to $1,000 payouts. Kitchen open with food and snacks; canteen serves beer and wine.
