Paddle - West River

We will carry our boats a short distance down the old railroad bed and launch there.  Jim assures us he will be there to help with the launch site.  We will paddle out toward the old rookery, hoping to find heron (or eagle).  A few boats at a time should approach the area in silence as we are paddling into the birds' space and we do not want to scare. If after we return to our put in, we have not yet paddled 2 hours, we will paddle under the bridge (if possible ) and continue into that portion of the West River.  This is a nice paddle to start the season with!  Of course we will help each other with the carry. Be prepared to sign the ADK liability release form, wear you PFD tight and correctly, and keep an eye on fellow paddlers.  New to ADK?  Come join us for this paddle and if you like what we do, consider becoming a member of ADK: to support responsible outdoor recreation and enjoy all the benefits of membership.  Here's the link to apply for membership: members.adk.org.
