Tuesday Hike (Hybrid)-Irondequoit Bay Park West
Note - This hike is cross-posted from the ADK-GVC Event Calendar: https://adk-gvc.org/calendar/, Two-hour hybrid hike in Irondequoit Bay Park West split between a 1.2 mile one-way hike with a climb at the start, cutting south across the park and descending to the other parking lot on Orchard Park Blvd, then a 2.8 mile second hike at a faster pace with 500' elevation ascent/descent on the Red, Orange, Blue and Purple trails. If you're only doing the first hike, please RSVP to coordinate a shuttle ride to the start of the hike. Meet at 9:45am in the in the Irondequoit Bay Park West parking lot (43.18910, -77.53007) on S Glen Rd/Bay Front S. next to the Irondequoit Bay Fish & Game Club for a 10:00am hike start. Women's Hike-Durand Eastman Park, Yellow Trail
We will hike for 2 hours, approx. 4-miles on the hilly trails of Durand Eastman park yellow trail. Meet at 9:45am for a 10:00am hike start. Meet at parking lot C on Lakeshore Blvd. at Durand Eastman park. This is near Horseshoe Road. We'll be in the woods, along the golf course, short pieces along Zoo road and Log Cabin road and hike out along Trott and Durand Eastman lakes. Please dress for the weather, bring water and a snack. Boots or trail shoes and poles may be useful on the trails.
If weather permits, bring a bag lunch and join me near Lake Ontario for a picnic lunch after the hike ends around noon.

Niagara Gorge Hike + Bike
Starting at the Riverway Parking Area at 9:30 am, we will lock up our bikes using bike racks there. Drive to Devil's Hole State Park on the Niagara Parkway to park our cars for the day. Parking is free. We will hike South along the Niagara River to the falls, beginning on Devil's Hole Trail. We will climb up and down stone stairs between upper and lower gorge trail sections. At Niagara Falls, we will stop for falls viewing and lunch, then walk to our bikes and ride on the Rim Trail back to our cars at Devil's Hole. Plan for an all day outing. Bring: lunch, snacks and water, bike helmet, lights. Wear shoes comfortable for both hiking and biking. New Member Hike in Whiting Road Nature Preserve and Herman Road Forever Wild Forest in Webster
All are welcome, but especially open to new members, who would like to learn more about ADK, meet fellow hikers and enjoy a hilly 5-6 mile hike in Whiting Road Nature Preserve and Herman Road Forever Wild Forest. We will meet at 9AM in the Whiting Road Nature Preserve Parking lot at 403 Whiting Rd in Webster (43.24688, -77.46887). We will likely finish by around noon (but do not count on it), so no need to bring lunch. But we will stop for snack and water breaks along the way. All hikers must sign a release form which will be available at the trail head. Dogs are not allowed on this hike. Please let me know if you plan to attend, so I know who all is coming.

Paddle-Seneca River-Oak Island Park
Join us for a longer paddle on the Seneca River. We'll launch from Oak Island Park in Waterloo at 10:00 and paddle on the Seneca River to Geneva State Park where we'll have our lunch. Then we'll return to our put in. This will about a 5 hour paddle with stopping for lunch. Please bring your lunch, water and snacks. We'll travel at a leisurely pace as always and just enjoy the day.
Directions: We will launch in Waterloo at Oak Island Park and boat launch, we will paddle west on the Seneca River appx. 5 miles to the Seneca lake State park where we can stop and have a lunch break. We will then paddle back east to Waterloo, total trip appx. 10 miles. Oak island is located on Oak Street in Waterloo. From Rochester take I90 east to exit 42, turn right onto route 14 heading south, take exit ramp for route 96 east and stay to the right onto Rt. 96 east. Follow Rt. 96 E to N. Paddle-Canadice Lake
This will be a paddle around the shoreline of this picturesque Lake
The launch site is the DEC boat launch at the north end of the lake. (Take Rt. 15A through the hamlet of Hemlock, traveling south. Go past the end of Hemlock Lake, keep going on Rt. 15A S. You'll turn left on Purcell Hill Rd. At the end of the road, turn right on Canadice Lake Rd. and watch for the DEC kiosk on the right. You can drive down to the lake to unload your boat but you need to park along the road.) If fishermen are using the launch also - we'll keep our boats over to the right shoreline to provide them access to the launch with their trailers.
Be prepared to sign the ADK liability form, wear your PFD tight and correctly, and keep an eye on fellow paddlers. Bring: boat, PFD, boating supplies, sunscreen, water, snacks (optional)

We will cycle out and back on the Erie Canal from Holley to Albion, past fruit farms, lift bridges, and countryside. Meet at Canal Park, 31 East Ave. Holley at 9:45. Wheels roll at 10:00 AM. Current plan is to cycle to Kirby’s Cider Mill on Butts Road in Albion, have a drink of their freshly pressed cider, then bike back to Holley. Round trip distance is about 17 miles. We'll meet at the boat launch off Lake Ave in Charlotte at the Public launch near the Marina. We will paddle south on the Genesee River. Hopefully the fall leaves will be at peak and this will be a beautiful paddle where we can sometimes see turtles and swans and a large cement freighter. Be sure to dress for the weather as this is getting into fall and will be our last paddle of the season.

Women's hike - Pittsford trails
Walk on the canal trail, a segment of the Auburn Trail, and to complete a 4-mile route, a loop through quaint Pittsford Cemetery, hoping its maple trees will be at peak. Surfaces include pavement, crushed stone and dirt. Mostly flat with a few gentle rises. Since the Sam Patch will still be using parking at Schoen Place, let's meet behind the Del Monte Lodge at 41 N Main St, Pittsford . Behind the lodge, CONTINUE under the RR bridge to a less used lot between the RR bridge and Grove St. Dress for the weather and bring water. Plan to sign the liability waiver in the parking lot. Bike Ontario Beach to Seneca Park and return
Join us for an easy-going 14 mile bike from Ontario Beach to the Seneca Park Zoo and return. We will ride south on the Genesee River Trail, along the boardwalk at Turning Point Park, across the Genesee River over the pedestrian bridge, past the Zoo on the loop around Trout Pond, and then return. There is some elevation at Turning Point Park, the pedestrian bridge, and Zoo portions. Plan for about a two and a half hour outing. If interested, we may go to Abbotts for frozen custard after the ride. We will meet at 9:45 at the Ontario Beach Park parking lot (43.257359, -77.607379) near the public restrooms. Bike Greenway Trail: Avon to York Landing Rd.
We meet at the Erie-Attica Trail parking lot off Farmers Road in Avon. Our ride starts on the Erie-Attica Trail, cycling over the trestle, then slightly hilly terrain to the Greenway Trail. At the end of the Erie-Attica trail, we turn onto the Greenway trail, heading south until we reach York Landing Road. We then turn around and head back to the parking lot, biking a total of about 16 miles. The trail is mostly stone dust with some grassy patches. Meet at the Erie-Attica parking lot at 9:45 AM with wheels rolling at 10:00. Please wear your helmet, dress for the weather and bring water and snacks.
