Severance Mountain Hike
This 1.2 mile hike is easy-moderate in terms of difficulty and features views of Schroon Lake and Paradox Lake. Unique to this hike is a walk through some tunnels located underneath I-87 in order to head up the mountain. The trail is mostly wide with roots and rocks. While there are a couple of steep(er) pitches, there are plenty of flatter sections to catch your breath. The main outlook provides a panoramic view of the Schroon Lake region, and a spur trail leads to a second outlook which features Paradox Lake and the surrounding area. What's Up on Some Saturday's? Geared for those new to hiking or snowshoeing and those coming back to the outdoors! Pace will be slow to moderate with distance between 4-10 miles.
