St. Regis is a mountain with a firetower and elevation gain of 1650 feet and an awesome view. The first 2 miles of the hike are a gradual incline before you come to a small stream with a bridge. After the stream the hike becomes steeper, and there are a several minor scrambles near the peak. We will plan to have lunch at the summit and enjoy the view. Wear good hiking boots, bring plenty of water (at least 2 liters suggested)and snacks. Hiking poles may be helpful.

Clear/Long/and Lilypad Pond Hike
Saturday Sept 5th- Clear/Long/Lilypad Pond. This 6 miles round trip hike is located just outside of Parishville. Although it is a short distance from town you get a sense that you are truly in a backwoods wilderness area. Perfect for beginners that do not want a great deal of elevation gain. 350 feet. Buck Mountain Firetower Hike Long Lake
Hike to Buck Mountain Firetower, on a new trail that was opened in 2023. While the elevation gain is only 500 feet, much of this is gained in a series of newly constructed ladders. There are at least 7 ladders. Good hike for those who want to practice with ladders. The summit is wooded, but there is a good view from the firetower. We will meet at the trailhead or carpool from Potsdam NY. Contact leader for exact meeting time for carpool and/or time of hike. Trekking poles are suggested and good hiking boots are required, as well as enough water and snacks, and appropriate clothing for the weather.
