Trail Maintenance at ASP
Trail Maintenance Day and Hiking - Allegany State Park, September 11-13; Friday, Saturday, Sunday, We have 2 electric-serviced cabins for the trip, 001 and 002 in the Angle Cabin Trail for Friday, September 13 and Saturday, September 14. So enough room for 12+ occupants (6 each cabin plus space for tents outside if desired). We’ll do our trail maintenance on Saturday morning and then a couple of outings. We’ll plan on doing a group hike in the afternoon. People should RSVP with either me (jonathan@coupal.us) or Brian (bkmonckton@gmail.com).

THREE DAY BACKPACKING TRIP on the Finger Lakes Trail.
Come join Leslie Salathe and Brian Monckton for a 21.9 mile backpack over three days and two nights through the gently rolling hills of Allegany State Park. Following the Finger Lakes Trail, we will start from the north at the Bay State Road trailhead (not too far from the Red House park entrance) and head south toward our eventual trip terminus at PA Route 346. Day one is the longest day with a hike of 8.5 miles to the Stony Brook lean-to where we will spend the night while overlooking beautiful Stony Brook. Plenty of time to enjoy breakfast in camp the next morning, day 2 will take us 6.2 miles to the Willis Creek lean-to for another night enjoying the company and the sounds of Willis Creek. The morning of day 3 brings a 7.2 mile hike - leaving the park along the way and crossing a titch into Pennsylvania - to the trailhead at PA Route 346.
