Hiking at Sprauge Brook
Hiking: April 26 Sprague Brook. Easy/Moderate (C+). Day hike meeting at the XC Ski Area parking lot at 10 am. Will be hiking the trails from the XC Ski loop to the Sledding hill with several stream crossings. Total distance will depend on the trail conditions. 5-8 miles. Dress for the weather, bring 10 essentials, water, snacks, and lunch.

We’re inviting you to join us on Saturday, May 2 for a day of hands-on trail work in Allegheny State Park on the Finger Lakes Trail/Conservation Trail. It’s a great way to disconnect from the screen, get your hands dirty, and help clean up a section of a heavily used trail for summertime use, maybe one that you've used in the past. It’s hard work, but the reward is a cleaner, more accessible trail for the whole community—plus, we’ll be covering lunch and snacks for all our volunteers. Spaces are limited, so grab your spot today and help us build a stronger trail community.

The Klondike Notch Trail in the Adirondacks High Peaks Region again needs your help. We will be working on an historic trail that the Niagara Frontier Chapter has been maintaining for over 40 years. Join us on Sunday as we make improvements to the trail; cleaning water bars, removing blow-down, and maintaining the Klondike lean-to. We are responsible for the 4.5 miles of the trail from the end of South Meadows Rd. to the Yard Mountain turnoff. Saturday and Monday offer the opportunity for Adirondack hikes of all levels. Also available are all the attractions of Lake Placid. A potluck dinner is planned for one weekend evening in Saranac Lake at the home of some ADK pioneers. This year I will be staying in the Loj campground. I have campsites 8 and 9 reserved from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. Some trail work experience is recommended.
