Lake Skannatati to Black Rock Mt. (Nurian Trail)

We will hike the ASB to Times Square and on the RD to Black Rock Mountain for lunch. We will return on the RD, Dunning, and Long Path Trails. Howell Mountain, Torrey Memorial

This is a shuttle hike. Meet at 9:30 AM at the parking area off Rt 6 Long Mountain Rd. Turkey Hill parking (GPS 41.316512, -74.051035). We will drive from there to a parking area along Rt 6 near Barnes lake for a start on a woods road along Barnes Lake to connect with the Long Path. We will take the Long Path over Barnes Mountain and Howell Mountain to the top of the Torrey Memorial. The hike will end at the initial Long Mountain parking area off Rt 6. This loop goes around the scenic MacMillan Reservoir and Bear Swamp Lakes. The hike leader will be performing light trail maintenance on one small portion of the trails to illustrate what trail maintenance is like. Bear Mountain Loop

Meet at 8:15 AM, this is a strenuous loop hike consisting of panoramic views and historic landmarks. We will traverse the Appalachian Trail (beautifully restored- consisting of 715 stone steps/ elevation gain of 750 feet) and the Major Welch Trail. This is one of my favorite hikes in the park. Tuxedo to Triangle Loop

We will meet at 8:45 AM at the DEC parking area in Tuxedo Park, NY, on East Village Road (just after crossing the railroad tracks on the left; GPS 41.195965, -74.184071). The parking fee is $5, and participants must prepay using the ParkMobile app (Lot #4515 – Tuxedo). We will begin promptly on the Ramapo–Dunderberg Trail, turning right onto the Kakiat Trail, then left on Blue Disc, right on RD, left on White Bar, left on Triangle, and descending back to RD and the parking lot. Dunderberg-Timp Grand Loop

Trailhead: From Bear Mountain Circle travel south on 9W, parking area will be on the right. Coordinates: 41.28109, -73.96295. Meet at 8:30 AM. This strenuous loop hike offers spectacular views of the Hudson River, surrounding mountains, and the remains of a 19th century spiral railway including two tunnels. We will be following the Ramapo-Dunderberg Trail and the Timp Torne Trail. This hike will take approximately 6.5 hours to complete. It will be worth the time and effort. Abram S. Hewitt State Forest

Meet at 8:45 AM for a 9:00 AM start at the Highlands Preserve parking lot, 22 Warwick Tpke, Hewitt, NJ. We take the Bearfort Ridge Loop north to the Ernest Walter Trail, hiking west and north to the AT, then east and north to the State Line Trail, back to the Ernest Walter, to the Bearfort Ridge Loop and back to the parking lot. High Tor State Park

The route heads north on the A–SB Trail, continuing onto the Red Cross Trail, Beech Trail, and the Long Path before returning to the parking lot. 8:30 AM at the White Bar Trailhead parking area on County Road 106 (Kanawauke Rd). Easy to Moderate loop hike starting on the White Bar Trail, continuing on the Appalachian Trail, turning onto the Island Pond woods road, then taking the Nurian Trail back to the White Bar Trail. We’ll have lunch at Island Pond, cross a few streams, pass an old gravel classifier, a stone spillway, and a mine. Poles recommended to assist with stream crossings. Agony Grind, Indian Hill & Furnace Loops

We take the Arden Valley Rd across NY 17, then hike the AT up Agony Grind. We turn south on the Sapphire (B) Trail, then east on the Indian Hill (Y) Trail to the Warbler (GY) Trail south, then head east to complete the Furnace Loop (R) and the Indian Hill (Y) loop. Stockbridge Mountain & Lake Nawahunta from Silvermine

This is an easy hike starting on the Menomine Trail, continuing on the Nawahunta Fire Rd, turning on the Long Path, then returning on the Menomine Trail in time for the chapter picnic. We'll stop for lunch/snack at the Stockbridge Shelter and enjoy mountain top views, explore a rock cave shelter, mine, cemetery plot, and Hippo Rock. Reeves Meadows to Tuxedo-Mt. Ivy Loop

Our route will follow the Reeves Brook Trail (white), left onto Raccoon Brook (blue), left onto Hillburn–Torne–Sebago (orange), right onto Seven Hills (blue), right onto Diamond Mountain (yellow), right again onto Seven Hills (blue), left onto T-MI (red), and left onto Stony Brook (yellow), continuing to Pine Meadow (red) and back to the cars. This is a strenuous hike. Please bring water and lunch. Hiking boots are required, and trekking poles are recommended. Pyramid Mountain Tripod Rock Loop

This loop hike runs along a scenic reservoir, goes by two unusual glacial erratics – Tripod Rock and Bear Rock – and reaches two panoramic viewpoints. Meet at 9:30 AM at the southern end of the Pyramid Mtn parking lot in Boonton NJ off Rt 511. Hike will include the scenic Taylortown Reservoir. Greenwood Lake (State Line Trail to Bellvale Creamery, Rt 17A)

This is a two car hike. We will meet at 9:00 AM at the Appalachian Trail Parking on Rt 17A (GPS N41°14.657, W74°17.230) and carpool to the start of the hike, which is the State Line Trail – parking across from the Greenwood Lake Marina on Rt 511 (Lakeshore Drive). The start of the hike will be a decent climb with rock scramble on the State Line Trail. We will reach the NY/NJ mark on the AT and hike north to Rt 17A. Welcome to the highest point of the Appalachian Trail in the Empire State! As you head north from the New York/New Jersey state line, you’ll quickly reach Prospect Rock, which sits at 1,433 feet above sea level. From this rocky perch, you are treated to a spectacular birds-eye view of Greenwood Lake stretching out below you. The trail follows the ridge of Bellvale Mountain; terrific views of Greenwood Lake and the surrounding mountains make for an enjoyable hike on a sneaky rugged section of the AT. Ramapo Mountain State Forest: Castle Loop & Wanaque Ridge

We start at 9:15 AM going to the north corner of the parking lot (same side of the road), part of the Castle Loop. We pass the Stone Tower and Castle Ruins, proceed on the Cannonball Trail then head north on the Wanaque Ridge Trail. We loop around the Wanaque Ridge, then pick up the Cannonball and Ramapo Lake Loop staying west of Ramapo Lake. We return on the Cannonball to the Castle Loop Trail taking it to the parking lot.
