Black River Trail Bike Trip

Join us for a scenic cycling adventure along the Black River Trail, traveling from Poor’s Island to Watertown and back! This ride offers a blend of natural beauty, historic landmarks, and a well-maintained path—perfect for cyclists of all experience levels. The route spans approximately 9 miles one way (18 miles round trip) on paved, well-maintained terrain, mostly flat with gentle inclines. To take advantage of cooler morning temperatures and minimize midday traffic, we’ll plan for an early start. , Whether you're looking for a relaxed ride or an opportunity to explore the Black River’s scenic surroundings, this trip is a fantastic way to connect with fellow cyclists and enjoy the great outdoors! Adopt-a-Highway (RT-3) Cleanup

Join us once again in the northern section of our chapter’s reach. At the intersection of NYS RT 3 and NYS RT 3A (Fargo), heading northeast 2 miles to Filbert Rd (Cowan Corner). Our goal is to clean up 4 miles of this highly visible corridor for travelers to and from the Adirondacks. During the morning, we’ll be picking up trash along our adopted stretch of highway. Ingerson Preserve Hike

Let's kick off Tuesday Trail season with an early evening walk at 6:00 PM on the Sissy Danforth Rivergate Trail through the S. Gerald Ingerson Preserve to the Michael Geiss Observation Tower. Baker Woods Spring Workday

Once again, we will meet at Baker Woods to help prepare the trails and gardens for spring & summer, clean up brush, see if any work needs to be done on the Sensory Trail, inspect signage and possibly stain them. We will meet at 4114 Factory Rd in Natural Bridge at 9:30 AM till Noon and breakfast will be provided. Bring water bottles if you would like to hike the trails after 12:00 PM. Kanik Trail Hike

Located just outside Watertown on Route 11 in Calcium (23408 US-11, Calcium, NY 13616), the James R. Kanik Trail is a paved trail with loose gravel. It is a fairly easy trek for anyone, with only a few light hills that also offers groomed tracks in the winter for cross-country skiing. There are wooden bridges, a picnic table, cook-out, bench, fitness equipment with instructions signs, as well as a couple of ponds, a playground, and a gazebo near the middle.
