Annual North Woods Chapter Invitational Golf Tournament

This year we will hold our Annual North Woods Chapter Golf Outing at the golf course in Tupper Lake (Timberjaxx Pass) and then follow it up with lunch at the Raquette River Brewery. The Chapter will cover all golf course fees for all qualified players. (To qualify you must be both alive and present.) This is an “Invitational” Golf Championship. If you are reading this schedule and you are a member of the North Woods Chapter, then you have been invited. Hike - VIC - Black Pond/Long Pond Loop

Starting at Keese Mill Road, we will follow the Black Pond Trail as it winds along the western shore of Black Pond.  Continuing north we will head for the lean-to on Long Pond where we can take a break and admire the view.  Retracing our steps for .4 mile we will turn east, cross a fish dam barrier and rejoin the Black Pond loop trail.  Now on the eastern side of Black Pond we will wind our way between Little Black and Black to another lean-to with good views and then make our way out to Keese Mill Road for a short road walk back to our cars. Paddle Route of the Seven Carries

We will Paddle the Seven Carries route point-to-point from Little Clear Pond to Upper St. Regis Lake. We’ll actually only do six carries. The longest portage is 1/2 mile. The remaining five portages are less than 2/10 of a mile each. Depending on the weather/wind conditions, we may paddle through Spitfire Lake and into Lower St. Regis Lake to finish at Paul Smiths College, or alternatively we could end at Upper St. Regis Landing for shorter mileage. Hike - St. Regis Canoe Area

Starting at Station Road, we will follow the Rail Trail to Rat Pond.  Then we will turn north onto a trail which will take us to the Fish Pond Truck Trail.  From here we will connect to the Green Pond Loop.  We will stop at Bone Pond, which is good place for lunch and then continue past Green Pond and Little Clear Pond to where we began.  There is a nice place to stop at Green Pond as well.  This route is often skied in the winter, but makes a nice walk in warmer weather. Hike Mount Adams Fire Tower

This 3540 ft mountain, accessed from the trail to Allen Mt. in the Tahawus region, offers excellent views from its fire tower of the High Peaks and Indian Pass from the south. 2.4 miles one way, 1800 feet elevation gain.
