Bengal Beats Summer Concert - Jay Hurley & Evan Norman
Music
Jay Hurley and Evan Norman are a string band duo from Pocatello, Idaho, who blend a diverse selection of original songs with a few familiar ones that the crowd is sure to enjoy. They draw inspiration from singer-songwriters such as John Prine and Gillian Welch. Jay plays fiddle, tenor guitar, and cigar box guitar. Evan plays acoustic guitar and banjo. These two talented multi-instrumentalists are sure to put a smile on your face with their own blend of folk, blues, and storytelling.

This summer, Idaho State University’s Farm Bureau Summer Theatre presents the Tony Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen. Powerful, emotional, and deeply relevant, this contemporary musical explores connection, belonging, mental health, and the impact of feeling truly seen.
When a misunderstanding changes his life forever, socially anxious high school student Evan Hansen is suddenly given the chance to fit in — but at a cost he never expected. Featuring an unforgettable contemporary score including “Waving Through a Window,” “For Forever,” and “You Will Be Found,” this moving production will feature live orchestration performed by local musicians.
