Hurricane Katrina Commemorative Mural Dedication in the Lower 9th Ward
Join the Office of Cultural Economy and Eternal Seeds for the official dedication of a new mural on the Industrial Canal levee wall. This summer, the Eternal Seeds youth artists—under the direction of Brandan “BMike” Odums and Liz LeFrere—created a 450-foot tribute marking the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. The work remembers lives lost, celebrates community resilience, and carries forward the lessons learned over the past twenty years.
Parking: On-street parking along Jourdan Ave and nearby blocks. No vehicles on the levee or grass; obey posted signs. Please be considerate of neighbors and don’t block driveways or gates.
Let us know if you're coming! Registration is encouraged, but not required: Click Here.
