Audubon Gentilly Green Space Input Meeting #2

Community Events The City of New Orleans Office Of Neighborhood Engagement is organizing a public meeting with community members, District D Councilmember Eugene Green, City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways, NORD Commission and Audubon Gentilly School to get community input on the use of the greenspace behind the school-bound by Mirabeau Ave. Arts St. Carnot St. and Painters St.   Background:    Clarifying Ownership The entire block (parcels 1-48) was donated to the City of New Orleans in 1914 to be used "for school and park purposes." Starting in 2018, steps were take by the City of New Orleans, New Orleans City Council and Orleans Parish School Board  to clarify ownership of both the school and park space.  In short, the parcels on which the school and playground lie were never transferred to the school board along with other school properties in 1952.  Through an Ordinance, Act of Transfer, and Declaration of Title Change, that historical correction was made - OPSB is now the owner of parcels 10-39 (school… Tuesday, March 28, 2023, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM. City planning Commission Master Plan Amendments Meeting Planning District 4

Community Events In September, the City Planning Commission held open applications for new Master Plan amendments to address the Future Land Use Map (FLUM) designations.
