Family Matinee: Attack of the Space Pirates
Hidden somewhere in the vast reaches of space is an alien technology so powerful that it threatens the very galaxy itself. Aurora: Lights of Wonder
Experience the aurora borealis as if you were there, thanks to the pioneering work of astrophotographer Kwon O Chul. The movie does not feature the typical time-lapse images, but instead: high resolution, hemispherical video recorded in real-time with a special low-light camera system that captures the subtle detail, colors, dynamism and beauty of the aurora. In addition, scientific explanations and beautiful art work about the legend of the aurora are featured throughout the movie. Filmed on location in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada.

Black Holes
Few mysteries in the universe have the power and awe of the black hole. Only now are we on the verge of understanding their true nature. This new immersive digital theater program incorporates some of the most intense three-dimensional visual effects ever created on the subject. Designed for general audiences, this full-length production features scientifically accurate 3-D simulations of black holes and the strange relativistic effects they can create. How are super massive black holes made? Where did the idea of a black hole come from? What was Einstein's connection to them? How do we detect them? How have they been portrayed in the media? What would happen if you were to approach one? Will the Earth ever get sucked into a black hole? Are there really such things as "worm holes"?

Music Matinee: Led Zeppelin
With the planetarium’s fulldome Digistar system, computer artists created a variety of immersive scenery and movement, from mood-provoking abstract art to theme-based imagery to transportive effects. The powerful surround imagery and surround sound will be choreographed to some of Led Zeppelin’s biggest hits like “Black Dog,” “Whole Lotta Love,” “Immigrant Song,” “Kashmir,” “Ramble On,” and Stairway to Heaven.”
Because of the intense nature of the show, it is not recommended for children under 10.
