Learn how to Plein Air Paint with Linda!!
Take the challenge: paint outside! Learn how to simplify complex scenery to create a successful landscape painting. Participants will meet at several designated scenic locations in the St. Joseph - Benton Harbor area and learn how to render striking compositions in the medium(s) of their choice. You will begin with a simple sketch, proceed with a value study and end up with finished paintings. Each plein air class session is 2.5 hours, one evening each week for 6 weeks (on Wednesdays, from May 21 until June 25).
Participants will need to have purchased the following prior to the first session:
- Aluminum easel
- Set of 5 good brushes in various sizes
- 5 primed canvases in your choice of sizes but not to exceed 16x20 Canvas

Summer Camp Ukulele Building
Community
A 3-Day camp for the kids of all ages to take advantage of the equipment in the Fab Lab at Lake Michigan College. Each participant will start with a ukulele "kit" which will include the parts of the ukulele as well as the strings. We will guide each participant through the motions of putting together the ukulele, decorating it, stringing the instrument as well as teaching you how to play the instrument.
The week's activities will include:
Monday- learning how the lasers work, cutting out the front and back of the ukulele with different types of wood and learning Adobe Illustrator for decoration of the instrument
Tuesday- participants will finish up decoration and construction of their ukulele and start the stringing process
Wednesday- Our luthier will help each participant finish up the stringing of the instrument and our first music lesson will start.

A 3-Day camp for the kids of all ages to take advantage of the equipment in the Fab Lab at Lake Michigan College. Each participant will start with a ukulele "kit" which will include the parts of the ukulele as well as the strings. Learn how to Plein Air Paint with Linda!!
Take the challenge: paint outside! Learn how to simplify complex scenery to create a successful landscape painting. Participants will meet at several designated scenic locations in the St. Joseph - Benton Harbor area and learn how to render striking compositions in the medium(s) of their choice. You will begin with a simple sketch, proceed with a value study and end up with finished paintings. Each plein air class session is 2.5 hours, one evening each week for 6 weeks (on Wednesdays, from May 21 until June 25).
Participants will need to have purchased the following prior to the first session:
- Aluminum easel
- Set of 5 good brushes in various sizes
- 5 primed canvases in your choice of sizes but not to exceed 16x20 Canvas
