IYT is a college-access and completion non-profit that serves young men of color, helping them get to and through college. A core piece of how we achieve our mission is through mentorship. Each year, we offer over 150 paid AmeriCorps fellowships to college-age men and women to serve as mentors in middle school and high schools (Richfield and Osseo).
We’re actively hiring for our mentor program this fall (2024-25)! IYT’s Mentor Fellowship is a great opportunity for anyone that has a heart for service and is looking to develop strong leadership skills. Many of our mentors use the fellowship as a bridge to impactful careers in fields such as education, public health, government, and social impact nonprofits.

Join us at our Annual Veterans Day Concert on Saturday, November 9, 11 a.m. at Crystal VFW Post 494 featuring the Concert Bands from North Hennepin Community College directed by David Mantini and Anoka Ramsey Community College directed by Sam Bergstrom. Selections from the NHCC Concert Band will include “High Flight,” a narrated piece inspired by the poem of the same name, and “Midnight Ride,” a harrowing journey with Paul Revere warning "the British are Coming!" ARCC will perform "Songs of Sailor and Sea" by R.W. Smith and "Red Tails" by Shabazz. The bands will combine for two pieces to conclude the concert.

We’re excited to announce the return of Toy Express, an event that provides free holiday gifts for the children of parenting students!
Thanks to the generosity of Menards in Golden Valley, which will be collecting toy donations throughout November, we are able to help brighten the holiday season for many families.
