EMAC Juneteenth Celebration
Join MTA's Ethnically Marginalized Affairs Committee as we come together to commemorate the historic occasion of Juneteenth, a day that symbolizes freedom, unity, and resilience.
This year’s family-oriented celebration includes a special guest storyteller, Len Cabral and a stellar drum performance by Sidy Maiga. DJ Lady Ly will be spinning tunes from the African diaspora, while members and their families have a delicious breakfast, catered by Neighborhood Kitchen, and support Black-owned vendors. Gerly's Ice Cream will serve ice cream at the end of the program.
This year's theme is Literacy is Liberation and will feature book swaps, book giveaways and recognition of authors, activists and educators, plus more.
