DOT Construction at Hominy Valley River Park
The Department of Transportation (DOT) will be conducting bridge repair on the I-40 Bridge over the French Broad River. To access the bridge, they will utilize Hominy Creek River Park. The project is scheduled to start Monday, April 29, and will last several months. During this timeframe, the park will remain open daily, and a pedestrian protection enclosure will be installed on the greenway to allow for access. This enclosure will be in place for approximately 3 months. Construction for this project will occur nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The greenway, parking lot, and river put-in will remain open to the public between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. If you have any questions, please contact the DOT at (877) 368-4968.

Systemwide Parks & Recreation Master Plan: Greenways and Trails Community Meeting #3
Would you like to share your input and feedback on Buncombe County's greenways and trails?
Come join us at Charles T. Koontz Intermediate (305 Overlook Rd, Asheville, NC 28803) on May 8 from 5-7 p.m. for our third Systemwide Parks & Recreation Master Plan community meeting, which will be specifically focused on greenways and trails. The meeting will take place in the gymnasium.
Guests are invited to partake in interactive greenways and trails planning exercises, and to learn about the current conditions of the county's greenways and trails. There will be subject matter expert staff who will be available to answer any questions. In addition, there will be a staffed survey station where you can take the online survey.
