Other Worlds SF & Fantasy Book Club Reads: "The Goblin Emperor" by Katherine Addison by
Swannanoa
The Goblin Emperor is a lush tale of deadly court intrigue and a modern classic of fantasy by Locus award winner and Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Award finalist Katherine AddisonJoin us for a discussion of one of the first ever books known as "hope punk."* It is one of this librarian's favorite books and one I often recommend. *Hopepunk says that genuinely and sincerely caring about something, anything, requires bravery and strength. Hopepunk isn’t ever about submission or acceptance: It’s about standing up and fighting for what you believe in. It’s about standing up for other people. It’s about DEMANDING a better, kinder world, and truly believing that we can get there if we care about each other as hard as we possibly can, with every drop of power in our little hearts.Light refreshments will be served.
