One Book, One Buncombe: Live Jazz Hour

Enka-Candler Library The Michael Jefry Stevens Trio will perform a selection of original music by Michael as well as standard jazz repertoire from the Great American Songbook.  The trio will feature California transplant bassist Bryan McConnell and local veteran drummer Rick Dilling. SHELL : Theatre for the Very Young presented by Asheville Creative Arts

West Asheville Library A 30-minute interactive multilingual and multimedia performance installation for ages 0-7 and their caretakers. SHELL includes projections, movement, puppetry and play. SHELL follows a Slug and a Snail who journey to find a new shell when the Snail’s shell is broken in a storm. Pack Memorial Library Buncombe County Public Library started our inaugural countywide book club called One Book, One Buncombe this spring. The vision for this communal effort is to have as many people as possible read, discuss, meditate, and ultimately have the shared experience of collectively reading the same book this spring. Free Overdose Reversal Drop In Training

BC.org - Homepage Community members can drop in to receive free overdose reversal training from Buncombe County Health and Human Services with the goal of empowering the community to potentially save a life. Everyone is welcome to stop by anytime between 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the first Friday of every month at 40 Coxe Avenue in Downtown Asheville. Bring your parking ticket from the Sears Alley Parking Deck for validation. During the drop-in, participants hear from educators about signs of an opioid overdose, how to use naloxone, who is at risk of using opioids and why, harm reduction principles, and more. Land of the Sky 101 Book Club
