The Leicester Library is excited to offer a 10 week Tai Chi for Beginners Series taught by Patricia P. Gilliam, PhD, ANP-BC, a Board-Certified Tai Chi For Health Instructor and Nurse Practitioner. The series will begin on Wednesday, March 26 at 4 pm and continue every Wednesday through May 28, 2025. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Preventions, a Tai Chi form that is endorsed by both the CDC and the Arthritis Foundation. George Ellison was an iconic writer of Western North Carolina and lived directly adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Cherokee Indian Reservation. The Land of Blue Shadows is a posthumous collection of his poetry that was collected and illustrated by his descendants, Elizabeth and Quentin Ellison.
