Drop-In Overdose Reversal Training

Learn how you can potentially save a life. Every month, community members can drop by to receive free overdose reversal training from Buncombe County Health and Human Services with the goal of empowering the community to recognize the signs of an overdose and how to respond. Training is also available in Spanish. Everyone is welcome to drop in anytime between 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the first Friday of every month at 40 Coxe Avenue in Downtown Asheville (room N102). NC Agricultural Disaster Crop Loss Program Deadline

The NC General Assembly has established the Agricultural Disaster Crop Loss Program, which is a one-time financial assistance program for those who experienced agricultural losses during any declared disaster in 2024, including Tropical Storm Helene. In order to be eligible for the program: Applicants must have experienced a verifiable loss of agriculture or aquaculture commodities or farm infrastructure as a result of a Presidential or Secretarial declared disaster (including contiguous counties) in 2024. , The farm must be located in an affected area for the respective agricultural disaster. , The commodity or aquaculture must have been planted or being raised before the official declared date of the disaster for the county in which the commodities or infrastructure are located and for which verifiable losses are claimed. Free Mental Health First Aid Training on May 13

Buncombe County Health and Human Services and Vaya Health are partnering to offer a FREE Mental Health First Aid training for the community. Mental Health First Aid will teach you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.
