Read to Kurī aims to help children improve their literacy, self-confidence, and self-esteem in a relaxed, non-judgemental environment. This programme is perfect for tamariki aged 5+ who would like to practice their reading skills while making a new canine friend at the library.

Join us to discover Antarctica’s power of creative inspiration with special guest artists: Anne Noble, John Walsh, Chris Orsman, Margaret Elliot, Jason O’Hara and Patrick Shepherd.
Artists in Antarctica explores the transformation that happens when artists visit the vast, challenging, and chilling landscapes of Antarctica. This book brings together the creatives of Aotearoa New Zealand who have been to the ice, and the impact this experience has had on their art and their creative process. Hear how the physical challenges of working in this harsh and extreme environment can uniquely harness and capture the creative imagination.
This talk will be hosted by artist and author Patrick Shepherd. Artists in Antarctica is published by Massey University Press.

Join us and our doggy guests from Canine Friends Pet Therapy for Read to Kurī at the library. You can book a 15-minute session to sit with one of our friendly dogs and read your favourite book, or one you've found at the library.
Read to Kurī aims to help children improve their literacy, self-confidence, and self-esteem in a relaxed, non-judgemental environment. This programme is perfect for tamariki aged 5+ who would like to practice their reading skills while making a new canine friend at the library.

Join us and our doggy guests from Canine Friends Pet Therapy for Read to Kurī at the library. You can book a 15-minute session to sit with one of our friendly dogs and read your favourite book, or one you've found at the library.
Read to Kurī aims to help children improve their literacy, self-confidence, and self-esteem in a relaxed, non-judgemental environment. This programme is perfect for tamariki aged 5+ who would like to practice their reading skills while making a new canine friend at the library.
