The Epic History of Macaroni and Cheese
Join culinary historian Karima Moyer-Nocchi for a special presentation inspired by her new book, The Epic History of Macaroni and Cheese. Through visuals and storytelling, Moyer-Nocchi will explore the long, surprising journey of a dish that has moved across centuries, continents, and social worlds—shaped by religious traditions, elite dining, migration, industrialization, and everyday home cooking.
From antiquity to fashionable eighteenth-century Europe to nineteenth- and twentieth-century America, Moyer-Nocchi traces how macaroni and cheese became both a symbol of refinement and a practical, sustaining meal. Along the way, she highlights the many hands involved in its making, including cooks whose knowledge and labor often went uncredited, as well as chefs, entrepreneurs, and home cooks who adapted the dish to new tastes and circumstances.

As part of the second Dance Reflections Festival in New York, Van Cleef & Arpels opens the studio doors alongside the stage, inviting participants to experience contemporary dance up close through a series of 20 public workshops at The Joyce’s Center for Creativity & Dance.
Led by choreographers whose work is featured in the Festival, including Leïla Ka, Jan Martens, Noé Soulier, Nacera Belaza and Soa Ratsifandrihana, alongside dancers from companies performing in the Festival, the workshops span offerings for professional dancers, advanced students, open-level movers and children starting at age 6. Designed around the principle of transmission, the series offers a rare opportunity to engage directly with the movement practices and creative processes behind the Festival’s work — not as spectators, but through embodied experience.

Culture through Kaleidoscope Opening Reception
Free Opening Reception for an impactful exhibition!
Join us for Culture through Kaleidoscope, a new visual arts exhibition opening at Resorts World NYC, curated by Alma Leya. Meet the artists and check out powerful works at this event!
Artist Statement: Much like how color fragments in a kaleidoscope combine to make a unique image, different people bearing diverse cultures come together to make a community rich in color. Therefore, when viewed from a broader perspective, when different individuals interact with each other, they create an energy that is vibrant and rich in culture. Like how a kaleidoscope creates something cultural, beautiful, and unique because of present differences, this exhibition aims to bring together artists and artworks, exemplified by their differences, to stitch a story about shared culture as seen through a kaleidoscope.

Purgatory
GR Gallery is pleased to present Purgatory, a group exhibition featuring works by Jordan Sullivan, Robert Martin, Jacob Rochester, and RUMINZ. The exhibition brings together 16 paintings influenced by outsider art, rural aesthetics, and Americana, creating a cross-cultural dialogue that bridges diverse styles and backgrounds. Collectively, the works unfold as a contemporary grand tour, placing themes of self-discovery and revelation at their core. Purgatory focuses on raw, unfiltered depictions of suburban and everyday life, rendered with a crude yet deliberate realism. Through an unabashed visual language, the exhibition confronts current social realities, offering an honest and direct reflection on the tensions and complexities of contemporary society.
The opening reception will take place on Friday, February 20, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Exhibition Dates: February 20 – March 21). Press members may contact GR gallery for a private viewing and/or interviews with the artists before the exhibition officially st…

Music Director James Blachly has carefully curated this program of music for strings and percussion, which includes some of Pärt’s most beloved works – Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten and Vater Unser – as well as the US premieres of Arvo Pärt’s Sequentia and Orient & Occident. Pärt composed Sequentia in 2014 for the production Adam’s Passion and dedicated the work to Robert Wilson. Orient & Occident was composed in 2000, and is based on the text of Credo, the Nicene Creed in the Church Slavonic language – one of the few religious texts that are the s…

On both sides of the Atlantic, artists also played an integral role in forging revolutionary ideals. They defied the British monarchy, armed with paint, canvas, wax, and espionage while risking their lives and reputations to support the cause of liberty.

Speakeasy, Die Softly: Immersive Murder Mystery Dinner Theater at Carmine's
The Dinner Theater Show Everyone’s Dying To Attend… At Carmine’s in Times Square!
Speakeasy, Die Softly is the most elaborate comedic immersive murder mystery ever performed by The Murder Mystery Company. During this killer show, guests will enjoy a three-course, family-style Italian feast in the newly renovated Sinatra Room at the legendary Carmine’s in Times Square.

Come on into Lou Zar’s and shimmy to the live music of the club’s famous songstress, Lucy Morals, and her accompanist, Keys Yacar, or, if you prefer, play some casino games and win big money you can blow on “soda pop.” Unfortunately, the fun can’t last all night– the feds have been sniffing around! We need your help to flip the speakeasy into a “legitimate Italian restaurant” before the police raid the place. However, even amidst all these games, dames, and dons, someone had murder on their mind! You and your table team must help the detective solve…
