Themed book bundles and activity packets featuring Scholastic® Teachable pages and a craft. Pt. Pleasant Beach Branch People with dementia can feel overstimulated and isolated. Tic-tac-toe is a game that a person with dementia can play with one other person so that they are not overstimulated in a larger crowd. This also allows the person to think and plan their moves, which strengthens cognitive abilities and helps with exercising eye-hand coordination. Our Story: A Panel Discussion- PFLAG Jersey Shore

Pt. Pleasant Boro Branch This panel discussion will feature a diverse group of people on the LGBTQ spectrum, as well as parents, who share their personal stories and experiences. There will be an informational component discussing LGBTQ issues in our area and state, and how people can become an ally to the LGBTQ community. Presented by PFLAG Jersey Shore, a nonprofit organization that envisions a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed inclusive of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Take-Home Storytime Bundle & Craft

Themed book bundles and activity packets featuring Scholastic® Teachable pages and a craft. Tuckerton Branch Work on pre-literacy and small-motor skills with the Tuckerton Library. Each participating child will have a Progress Animal on our wall. Mindfulness Meditation: Tactile Body Scan

Manchester Branch This event will take place on the lawn outside the library.  Participants should bring a lawn chair. Mindfulness Meditation: Tactile Body Scan The body scan is a classic mindfulness meditation technique that involves relaxing and paying attention to the body with a gentle awareness, while the tactile body scan adds subtle movements to embody sensations and feelings at a deeper level. Join us in this beautiful practice and learn to reconnect and befriend your body. Build awareness to the subtle voice of the body as it ‘speaks’ to us. Open to new and experienced practitioners. About the Instructor: Shazia Zaman is a certified Mindfulness Meditation instructor and practitioner.
