Ocean County Health Department Vaccine Clinic

Brick Branch The Ocean County Health Department will be offering influenza (flu) vaccines (1 year and above) and COVID-19 vaccines (5 years and above). Please visit www.ochd.org/covid19/ for more information or to register for an appointment, or call 732-341-9700 x7411. Note: Please bring your COVID Vaccine Record Card, ID, and insurance card (if available). The COVID-19 vaccine is available for all ages who have not received the updated 2023-24 vaccine series. Only one (1) dose of the 2023-24 series is recommended, which was approved September 2023. For COVID vaccine availability for children younger than 5 years, contact the Ocean County Health Department. Please be prepared to wait for 15 minutes after your vaccine. If you are not feeling well, consider rescheduling your appointment. The Tuskegee Airmen: America's First Black Pilots

Manchester Branch The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of primarily African-American military pilots and airmen who fought in World War II.  They were the first African-American military aviators in the U.S. armed forces.  Trained on five airfields surrounding Tuskegee University in Alabama; their training was the first de-segregated training to take place within a segregated U.S. military.  It became the first dramatic move forward to racial and social equality within America.  The presentation will cover the history of the formation of the Tuskegee Airmen, the unit’s wartime accomplishments and the unit’s overall effect on American society.  Presented by Paul Zigo of the World War II Era Studies Institute.
