Art Exhibit: Vision Quest by Carol Stauffer

Toms River Branch The Ocean County Library is pleased to announce that it will host Vision Quest, a month-long exhibit by Carol Stauffer The collection, which will be displayed in the Toms River Branch McConnell Gallery during February, consists of inspirational photography. For all of her life, nature has been a source of inspiration and solace for Toms River photographer Carol Stauffer. As a youth she began exploring the natural world around her in rural Pennsylvania with a Brownie camera. While pursuing degrees in Education, Dance Therapy and Massage Therapy, she began to study the connection between body, mind and spirit as vehicles for self-expression. Through this exploration, she began to discover the spiritual nature of her work. For Carol, nature is a living canvas of beauty, harmony and much wisdom. Prom Dress Drive

System Programming Proms are expensive. Donate a formal dress or tuxedo and give a student in need the opportunity to join their friends at a memorable Spring Dance. We are collecting NEW ,CLEAN & GENTLY Used: Teen styled Prom, Party Dresses, Evening Gowns and Tuxedos. Prom dresses in all sizes from 0 to 30 are needed. Lakewood Branch Local African American portraits are displayed in the branch meeting room on loan from The Sheldon Wolpin Lakewood Historical Museum.  These unique portraits are created by Harold Kessler, a noted photographer and Lakewood school teacher. Art Exhibit: Vision Quest by Carol Stauffer

Toms River Branch The Ocean County Library is pleased to announce that it will host Vision Quest, a month-long exhibit by Carol Stauffer The collection, which will be displayed in the Toms River Branch McConnell Gallery during February, consists of inspirational photography. For all of her life, nature has been a source of inspiration and solace for Toms River photographer Carol Stauffer. As a youth she began exploring the natural world around her in rural Pennsylvania with a Brownie camera. While pursuing degrees in Education, Dance Therapy and Massage Therapy, she began to study the connection between body, mind and spirit as vehicles for self-expression. Through this exploration, she began to discover the spiritual nature of her work. For Carol, nature is a living canvas of beauty, harmony and much wisdom. Duffy’s Cut Project

Long Beach Island Branch In Malvern, PA is a mass grave holding 57 Irish immigrant railroad workers who died in 1832 of cholera.  Some died because of the prejudice against Irish Catholics that had contributed to denial of care for them. Others, though, are suspected of having been murdered out of fear of the spread of cholera.  Dr. Frank Watson has worked on the site of the excavation of this grave, and has written the story of these immigrants, and what is believed to have happened to them.  Sponsored by the Friends of the Island Library. Art Exhibit: Vision Quest by Carol Stauffer

Toms River Branch The Ocean County Library is pleased to announce that it will host Vision Quest, a month-long exhibit by Carol Stauffer The collection, which will be displayed in the Toms River Branch McConnell Gallery during February, consists of inspirational photography. For all of her life, nature has been a source of inspiration and solace for Toms River photographer Carol Stauffer. As a youth she began exploring the natural world around her in rural Pennsylvania with a Brownie camera. While pursuing degrees in Education, Dance Therapy and Massage Therapy, she began to study the connection between body, mind and spirit as vehicles for self-expression. Through this exploration, she began to discover the spiritual nature of her work. For Carol, nature is a living canvas of beauty, harmony and much wisdom.
