We will take a look at Juneteenth, a warm story of exploration of a family and a community.

Students will explore key artists in the journey toward abstraction and their unique motivations for their work, including:

Build on your drawing skills with charcoal, pencil, and pastels by studying still life installations, practicing gestural sketches, and experimenting with materials!

I have found so much joy in making them by hand and want to share what I'm learning with you.

About the Author:
Nolan Grimes has been fascinated with abandoned and historic places since high school, leading him to explore urban environments.
He graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2021 and has published two books:
'Roadtrip: A Month Alone' (2021) and 'A History of Buildings at Indiana University of Pennsylvania' (2022).
Nolan holds a degree in Geographic Information Systems and works for Carnegie Mellon University.

Saturday Morning Kids Club, held the 1st Saturday of every Month, for kids 6-12 years old.
Kids Club is a low pressure creative zone for kids. They will learn basic skills of hand-building clay forms that can be strengthened and built upon each time they attend.
Each month we offer a structured demonstration, but if students are able to work independently they are welcome to experiment with clay in their own way.
Pieces are typically available for pick up within 2 weeks.

Saturday Morning Kids Club, held the 1st Saturday of every Month, for kids 6-12 years old.
Kids Club is a low pressure creative zone for kids. They will learn basic skills of hand-building clay forms that can be strengthened and built upon each time they attend.
Each month we offer a structured demonstration, but if students are able to work independently they are welcome to experiment with clay in their own way.
Pieces are typically available for pick up within 2 weeks.
