Offered twice per month, this group takes about one hour and is facilitated by an oncology social worker and a Penn social work student. This group is held on the first and third Tuesdays of every month, from 2:00-3:00. This group will begin on January 17th and end on April 18th. This is an open group, as members can attend as many or as little sessions as they feel comfortable.

Have you ever noticed how music can just make you feel better? How are you already using music to cope? How can music be utilized to promote well-being in mind and body? In this virtual support group, participants will engage in music experiences that may sound like guided relaxation to music, making music through facilitated song-writing, or sharing and listening to meaningful songs to craft an intentional playlist. We will explore shared emotions and experiences along the way. No musical experience is required. Groups will be facilitated by a board-certified music therapist.

Penn Dental Medicine’s Oral Cancer Walk & 5K
The Oral Cancer Walk & 5K has been an annual tradition on Penn’s campus since 2009. Organized entirely by Penn Dental students, their goal is to raise awareness about oral cancer through a variety of fundraising activities leading up to the annual race in April. On race day, after seeing all our runners and walkers through the finish line, Penn Dental provides free oral cancer screenings, educational programming from expert speakers, and of course raffling off great prizes! 100% of the proceeds from fundraisers and the Walk/5K are donated to the Penn Dental Medicine Oral Cancer Fund which supports oral cancer research.

The Lymphedema Support Group at Good Shepherd Penn Partners provides a safe place for anyone dealing with lymphedema as the result of impaired lymph system from birth or from an injury or illness. The group is run by certified lymphedema therapists who understand the challenges limb swelling can present.

Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine is proud to offer the The LGBT Cancer support group, a supportive, confidential space for any LGBT identifying patients with a cancer diagnosis or LGBT identifying cancer survivors.
Offered twice per month, this group takes about one hour and is facilitated by an LGBT identified oncology social worker.
The second Tuesday of the month, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, the group is for LGBT identifying patients only.
The fourth Tuesday of the month, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, the group is open to LGBT patients and their LGBT identifying partners, friends, and family.

Are you looking to find connection with others who have similar experiences? Have you ever noticed how music can just make you feel better? How are you already using music to cope? How can music be utilized to promote well-being in mind and body? In this virtual support group, participants will engage in music experiences that may sound like guided relaxation to music, making music through facilitated song-writing, or sharing and listening to meaningful songs to craft an intentional playlist. We will explore shared emotions and experiences along the way. No musical experience is required. Groups will be facilitated by a board-certified music therapist.
This group is open to patients, families and staff. Music-based Support groups are the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 12 - 1 pm.

During the Reiki circle I will provide a sacred, safe space. All you need to bring is an openness to just be and an openness to receive Reiki. We will talk a bit about what Reiki is, where it comes from, how when it is used as an integrative modality it can contribute to your wellbeing. Take some time out of your day to come home to yourself, to reset, to feel nourished, balanced, clear minded and calm.

GSPP Lymphedema Virtual Support Group

The Lymphedema Support Group at Good Shepherd Penn Partners provides a safe place for anyone dealing with lymphedema as the result of impaired lymph system from birth or from an injury or illness. The group is run by certified lymphedema therapists who understand the challenges limb swelling can present.
During monthly meetings, we’ll discuss ways to minimize symptoms and enjoy life to the fullest extent possible. Participants have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from each other’s experiences.

Do you sometimes find that words are not enough to process your experiences? Are you looking for new or alternate ways to cope with stress during this time? Are you looking to find connection with others who have similar experiences? In these virtual support groups, participants will use traditional and non-traditional art materials commonly found at home to engage in creative processes for self-expression, relaxation, and relating to others. Previous art experience is not required. Groups will be facilitated by a registered art therapist.

Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine is proud to offer the The LGBT Cancer support group, a supportive, confidential space for any LGBT identifying patients with a cancer diagnosis or LGBT identifying cancer survivors.
Offered twice per month, this group takes about one hour and is facilitated by an LGBT identified oncology social worker.
The second Tuesday of the month, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, the group is for LGBT identifying patients only.
The fourth Tuesday of the month, from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, the group is open to LGBT patients and their LGBT identifying partners, friends, and family.
